ENCE returns with a new lineup

ENCE have revealed their new lineup today, putting an end to speculation on where finnish top AWPer Aleksi "allu" Jalli will be playing.

ENCE eSports didn't wait long after the new year to reveal their new lineup, a quintet of Finns featuring one of the most talked about players in the past month, Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli, who is also number 19 on our top 20 ranking of 2015.

allu will try his luck at home after European incursions

The team is also bringing on board a support network of well known figures in the Finnish and international scenes, including players turned analysts Joona "⁠natu⁠" Leppänen and Tomi "⁠lurppis⁠" Kovanen, who will be taking on managerial roles.

Joining allu under the ENCE banner will be Tom "⁠stonde⁠" Glad, Juho "⁠juho⁠" Lampinen, Miikka "⁠suNny⁠" Kemppi, and Mikko "⁠xartE⁠" Välimaa, who were seen playing together in MIXCAT and winning ASUS ROG last fall.

natu's statement:

"We've had professional organisations in Finland in the past, but none has ever been able to provide circumstances where the players have had the opportunity to consider themselves as fulltime professional players. We can happily say our team now is in that situation and with our backing we're certain they can simply focus on one thing: playing."

lurppis' statement:

"Finland has never had a CS team with proper backing before, so I am very excited to be a part of ENCE. With allu starring in the team, we know with hard work ENCE can bring Finland back to contention for titles, which is what Counter-Strike is all about."

juho is a really good player. He is just inconsistent. I really like disturbed and I remember his beast mode but he didn't perform well lately - when he played in these Finnish mix teams. And about +natu - I don't think it's a good idea. His fragging power isn't enough. He might be a coach though. His knowledge about the game may be a useful thing for them.

Big difference here is that all of the guys playing quit their jobs and they will have more support. There will be two guys from Finnish LAN scene backing up these guys and providing support.

Well, they are kinda oldskool guys in demoscene and they after all do throw one of the biggest LAN events in the Nordic region (Assembly). I mean, they have contacts, they can help with getting team stable economicaly and so forth. This is first team in Finland to have actual support, but I am not sure if it is even near to Finnish mean salary.

Sir, you must me retarded, if you are saying, that this team will be better than NiP. NiP isn't good right know, but they aren't bad neither. TOP4/8 at majors, many second places. They're still capable of beating many good teams like EnVy, Fnatic or TQM. Even if they will be worse with pyth, even if they will be at let's say mousesports/dignitas level. They will still be better than them.

They have the potential to be really good, and I'm not saying that because I'm Finnish, but because they actually do, regardless of what the 17-year old angsty trolls seem to think. But like all Finnish teams in the history of this game, and all the previous versions as well, they'll likely switch a couple of members a couple months in, then a couple more later on, and finally, disband half a year in. That's how it's been since the dawn of time, with quite literally every single Finnish CS-team that's had some potential. I wish that'll not be the case this time around, but history tends to repeat itself.

ofcourse you end up switching players cause you can tell from the start it ain't working. the player rally is pretty much always result of bad results. the thing is, it is just very unlikely a proper backin will make a huge impact, i haven't witnessed it to happen in cs. it's a talent based game, you will need the most talented players to succeed. does this team have what it takes? well, can't say excactly they have extraordinary talent too much but gladly to see them to prove everybody wrong.
