Groups for EU Minor revealed

The draw for the group stage of the European Minor Championship has been made, PGL has revealed.

From January 29-31, PGL's brand new Bucharest studio will stage the European Minor Championship, featuring eight teams, all of whom come from online qualifiers hosted last week.

A total of $50,000 will be on offer at the Minor, which will also rewarding the winning side with a spot at the MLG Columbus major offline qualifier, taking place from February 26-28.

ANGE1's HellRaises to face two Swedish teams and CSGO.one

The tournament will feature a double-elimination group stage, with the Upper Finals and the Decider being played in a best-of-three format. The top two from each four-team group will advance to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.

Joining PGL's duo of Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett and Henry "⁠HenryG⁠" Greer on the event's on-air team will be Richard Lewis and Joona "⁠natu⁠" Leppänen, with more names to be announced as we get closer to the event.

The $50,000 prize pool will be distributed between the top four finishers in the following way:

1. $30,000
2. $15,000
3-4. $2,500

These teams are a bit surprising for a 50k event and a spot at major offline qual. Some good teams must have fucked up in the qual. Gl, gonna be cool to see some new talent.

These minors are for those teams outside of Majors and excluded the teams who had players from Cluj Napoca. It is designed to help aide the scene primarily get teams extra exposure.

Nope, because teams with players like pump, whom were in Cluj cannot participate. Thereses all those teams (SK, pronax new team etc.) will play in the Last Change qualifier

Dignitas already have a spot at the Columbus Offline Qualifier due to being Bottom 8 at Cluj. SK will almost definitely be invited to the EU/CIS Last Chance Qualifier, which is the only route they can take if Pimp is going to play.
