Enemy, SPLYCE to MLG Minor final

The final day of the MLG Americas Minor kicked off with two semifinals that saw the four presumed teams to make the playoffs facing off in best-of-three matches.

The first match was a face-off between Enemy and Winterfox with the former team having looked quited strong throughout the group stage and this confidence translated into the first map of de_mirage where following a paltry 8-7 CT-side, Enemy racked up eight Terrorist rounds to take the map 16-8.

With Kenneth "⁠koosta⁠" Suen and Michael "⁠Uber⁠" Stapells firing on all cylinders, Winterfox were unable to get the ball rolling on de_overpass either as Enemy pulled away with a 16-7 map win and advanced to the grand final.

The second semifinal would actually turn out to be the calamitous one for OpTic and early indications of the 14th ranked team in the world underperforming began on de_cbble where SPLYCE took the match to overtime and then clinched a 19-17 map win.

OpTic were unwilling to bandy about at that point and crushed SPLYCE on their map pick of de_cache with a 16-5 scoreline.

However, on the decider map of de_mirage it was SPLYCE's newly signed David "⁠DAVEY⁠" Stafford as well as Arya "⁠arya⁠" Hekmat and Abraham "⁠abE⁠" Fazli who put in strong performances to give SPLYCE the 16-8 win as OpTic crumbled under both external and internal pressure.

With many having considered OpTic the favourites to take the MLG Minor after the team's ELEAGUE Road to Las Vegas victory, the grand final is now instead a battle between Enemy and SPLYCE and will begin shortly.
