spaze's Method advance to the playoffs
The second elimination saw Group A losers Quest and Fluffy Gangsters also play on de_mirage and also finish with a 16-14 scoreline, which went in favour of Quest due to Aleksey "1uke" Zimin and Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov's strong performances, thereby sending Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov & co. out of the tournament.

Both of the winning teams therefore moved on to their respective best-of-three decider matches with the first being a showdown between Method and Quest.
Method ultimately triumped by winning 2-0 (16-11 on de_train and 16-14 on de_dust2) but the Russian team struggled on both maps, nearly losing a 12-3 advantage on train due to Quest's defenses and having to put up a better T-side than Quest had done on de_dust2. Ivan "spaze" Obrezhan was instrumental in his team's playoff bid.
