For our last piece of coverage from DreamHack ZOWIE Open Leipzig we have a winning interview with Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács.

Na`Vi and Luminosity delivered an exciting, nail-biting series. Both de_train and de_cbble ended up going into overtime and Na`Vi came out on top of both to take the title and the $50,000 cheque.

We managed to get a hold of Ladislav "⁠GuardiaN⁠" Kovács for the winning interview, where the Slovak goes through Na`Vi's point of view on the final and his opinion on Luminosity's current standing.

i don't get why astralis are always so highly rated, they never win anything and only choke at lans. i wouldn't even call that choking since that implies that there are games they should've won but didn't... no they are just worse than what people usually expect from them, in other words they are highly overrated, as simple as that. they never deserved their high rating.

i do agree with you, i think you are right that astralis doesnt deserve there high rating and are a rather overrated team at this point. i think the reason why people yet rate them as a top team was that periode in 2015 where they won a lot of lans and destroyed fnatic consistently, i think thats why people rate them higher than they actually are.

mid 2015 they were really good but since then they've been getting rekt, and when they lost TSM as sponsor it seemed like they got worse. I'd say they deserve their spot though. At least, they're better than VP.

Agree. The problem at competitive CS:GO is that some teams are truly "kryptonite" for other teams. For example, Fnatic wins singlehandedly against LG everytime they got a H2H while LG crushes ex-G2 and enVy H2H over the last months and has nearly equalized H2H against Navi. Astralis got too many "bad matchups" inside the top 5, that's why their results are stuck a bit over the last months.

Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't this the first LAN that VP attended this year? You can't judge the performance of a team like VP from 1 lan. I think it's fair to rate them above LG currently. As I said, LG are deffinetly a top6 team, But you can't rate them above any of the TOP5 teams right now.

So we didn't have good team till 2005 we had 2 big teams in our scene Arcy and SpecSter But they didn't had any success on international scene. There was a rumor that some players from those teams don't like each other. Anyway they decided to merge into one team picking up the best players From Arcy TaZ LUq and zibi from SpecSter Neo and someone I don't rly know with one anyway in first like year they were changing 5th a lot rulon napalm zibi pitrek I can't tell now who was when but they were starting to show up in international games, winning some Czech Republic lans (yes lol they were better before that). But the biggest change was when they kick zibi and added Loord and Kuben After that they soon won WCG monza 2006 as huge underdog since then they became one of the best teams winning huge tittles but often playing bad at smaller lans. Its like they would win all majors but fail at smaller lans. So the saying "bet on VP when they r underdog and don't bet when they r favorite" was always true.

fnatic, navi, envy, ex-?. You can't just beat some team 1 or 2 times and take their place in top, it's not how it works. Will see who is who in the middle of the year. If at that point LG will be able to achieve something it will become top-3 team, no doubt. But they need to prove it by wining at least something or by participating in more finals.

Well considering Astralis is slumping and have been for months and NV is up and down, LG can be considered on their level. I don't think LG is better than any of these teams but to say they are at a disadvantage or less talented is borderline ignorant. yeah pretty much this Astralis is reaching playoffs constantly, but not much more VP is in major slump, hard to say where they will place if they will finally hit their form, but it's always like that with them. they're most inconsistent top team. LG is a good team, however i'm not seeing them as a top five atm, they have potential to upset and all that other stuff, i just really don't see them being a top 5 my top 5 right now would be Fnatic (just str8 beast and really consistent) Envy (when on fire they can make some sick plays, cough cough kennyS) Na'Vi (i just love this team idek why, when GuardiaN on fire then it's just geegee) Astralis (pretty consistent and just so sick) Mentionable teams : VP INCONSISTENT AF when on the Virtus plow train they can de_stroy NiP (i'm a fanboy, haven't seen alot from them after allu stepped down, tbh feels gr8 i like pyth more, but 2-1 against efrag is just way to close)
