CLG send G2 packing in Vilnius

The first map of the series, de_dust2 - CLG's pick - was an extremely hard fought one, with CLG picking up the win only in the final round after a dramatic comeback from G2 during the second half.

The first half of the map was highly contested from the get-go as neither side could force a breakthrough. By the end of the half, only one round separated the two teams, but the game took a turn after the break as CLG won five rounds in a row, which propelled them into a commanding 13-7 lead.

That was when G2's offense came to life. The French team won six of the following seven rounds to reduce the scoreline to 13-14, but CLG hit back and reached map point. G2 held strong and kept their hopes alive by winning the following round, only to collapse at the final hurdle against an ecoing side.

jdm was on fire throughout the series 

Inferno began with CLG gettting out to a 2-0 lead before being caught off-guard by G2 during an eco B push. The former Titan team took control of the game and won the next six rounds to force CLG coach Faruk "⁠pita⁠" Pita to call a timeout. The North American side tightened up their defense to hold off G2, who would still close out the half with a 10-5 lead.

In the second half, CLG were able to win the first eco round after losing the pistol, but G2 hit back right after and followed it up with some flawless gun play to seal a 16-6 success.

G2 fought back on Inferno but faltered on Cobblestone 

The final map was de_cobblestone, where G2 came out the brighter of the two sides and easily stopped CLG's B push in the pistol round, with Edouard "⁠SmithZz⁠" Dubourdeaux getting three kills to his name. However, CLG rallied back and won the eco round to swing the tides back against the Frenchmen. It took G2 some time to recover, and they were close to picking up a round when they were down 2-6, but Josh "⁠jdm64⁠" Marzano clutched it for his team in a 1vs2 situation.

G2 called a timeout in an attempt to halt CLG's momentum, but the North American side refused to take their foot off the pedal and piled on more misery on their opponents' defense, extending their lead to 11-2 before G2 claimed the final two rounds of the half.

Kévin "⁠Ex6TenZ⁠" Droolans's men got off to a blazing start in the second half and won four rounds in a row to reduce the deficit to 8-11. CLG were not willing the let the map slide, however, and called a tactical pause to fix their defense, a move that bore fruits as they won five rounds in a row en-route to a 16-10 finish.
