Astralis breeze past CLG for 3rd place

Astralis take third place at the Game Show Global eSports Cup 2016 in Vilnius after beating CLG in two maps, de_overpass (16-3) and de_dust2 16-4.

Astralis took 3rd place and bagged $30,000 in Vilnius

The first map up of the match was de_overpass, which was picked first by the Danish side. While CLG had shown some promise on it in previous days by beating EnVyUs on it twice, Astralis would have none of that running away with the T half by giving up only three rounds.

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, who has been rather absent during this tournament if we don’t count the matches against Method, showed up big with 5 entry frags in the first half, and being the first to trade a rival’s first kill for his team another 2 rounds.

CLG failed to win the T side pistol, and even the faintest chance at coming back started to disappear, as Astralis got 4 straight rounds to end it 16-3. dupreeh ended up topping the scoreboard with 22 frags under his belt, and two more first kills on the four final rounds, for a total of 7.

dupreeh's entries nullified CLG on de_overpass

Dust2 didn’t seem to start much better for the Americans, as René "cajunb" Borg and Nicolai "device" Reedtz cleaned up CLG headshot after headshot on long with their USPs. CLG weren’t going to let this one slip away just yet, though, as they went on to win the next three rounds to tie it up 3-3.

Astralis imposed their will again not letting CLG execute their plays, or retaking sites when they did, showing a CT side that was reminiscent of the ones that have given them so many joys in the past.

The T-side pistol also went the way of the Danes, for whom everything was working today, and it was only a matter of time before the second map would be closed out. They immediately put themselves up 15-4, and with CLG forcing on the last round, Astralis had everything going their way. Astralis took it without problems to close the map and the match, 16-4, for a third place finish.

ok 22:22 when the round difference is -26. that makes alot of sense.

That makes no sense at all, if you lose 16-3 and 16-4 the chances of you breaking even, in terms of kills/deaths, is very slim. Unless you just baited your teammates the entire series and got a lot of exit frags or something. Otherwise it's expected to drop a negative k/d ratio, especially when only 19 and 20 rounds were played per map, respectively.

what is he supposed to do? Not frag? It's not his fault that he can out frag most NA players.

+1 I'd like to see his rating vs top 5 teams only. Probably not very impressive. He is the most overrated player in CS history.
