Pro League Finals with $500k+ pool

ESL has announced the prize distribution for the third edition of its Pro League.

Kicking off today, ESL Pro League Season 3 will feature 24 of the world's finest teams, who will duke it out over the next nine weeks for a piece of the $750,000 prize pool and the chance to attend the offline finals, to be held at an as-yet venue in London in May.

With an additional $250,000 on offer per season in the Pro League, ESL has announced that $512,000 alone will be paid out to the eight teams attending the finals. The rest of the money will be distributed proportionately among the teams who did not make the cut, having finished 5th-12th in their respective divisions.

fnatic won the first two editions of the Pro League

The winning side will take home a whopping $200,000, which is a significant increase from the maximum figure of $118,000 that a team could get if they topped their division and won the offline finals during the first two seasons.

Below you can find the prize distribution for the online and offline portions of the ESL Pro League:

Regular season (Europe and North America)

5. $27,000
6. $23,500
7. $20,000
8. $16,500
9. $13,000
10. $9,500
11. $6,000
12. $3,500

Season finals

1. $200,000
2. $90,000
3-4. $44,000
5-6. $36,000
7-8. $31,000

That's what is sad in this world. Qatar getting the world cup is the most disgusting exemple of this but seriously tho, major will always have this prestige leagues can't really. You can't have the same hype since leagues are played for months

Ddos doesn't have to happen if the players are careful, which most tier 1-tier 2 players are already, bo1 is heaven for betting + at least for me I don't have time to spend 2 hours every second day watching bo3 during working days, whereas bo1 are perfect for me to follow the league and watch a few fast matches a week

Hard to do best of three series for league play, at least when there are so many events. There would be even more forfeits, ddosing, etc.

and to be fair, the fact that it's a bo1 really doesn't have as big of an impact when there are 20 matches in a season, and not 2 matches and you're out of a tournament in group stage.

They need to get top4, not top3. There will be really great teams who just don't make it just based on mathematics. 20 games is easily enough for a team to make up for an upset loss. If they can't make up for an upset loss then maybe they really weren't a top 4 team in that league this season. Your argument implies that a t1 team can just get super unlucky and not qualify because they lost to na'vi (a team who is actually better than Astralis nowadays and always pulled upsets before they were this good) and other t1 teams didn't make it in because of the system. Why didn't they beat any of the t1 teams online? If they never pulled an upset and lost to teams who are roughly equivalent to their level of play, then maybe they didn't deserve to go to playoffs that season? It's no secret VP have been playing like dog shit lately.

Stickers are also one of those things where not every team is lucky, for example TSM stickers were awful compared to any tier1-2 team, but LGB had amazing stickers, alongside 3DMAX, Flipsid3, Titan.

They still bought TSM for Pick'em = more $$$ :P You can check quantity of team stickers in the steam market.. I'm sure that tier 1-2 teams got a lot quantity stickers to compare the rest teams like Flipsid3, Vexed etc.. LGB stickers are expensive than TSM stickers in the market, but when you buy a LGB sticker = money fee from steam market is going to Valve/Steam - not LGB. Only when you buy example TSM from CSGO ingame during active or 1-2 weeks before major tournament = 50% to teams, 50% to Valve, if I remember right...

Even if they would get money out of Steam market 'Titan' wouldn't get a Cent cuz The Company Titan doesn't exist anymore and if Titan still would exist Sticker price wouldn't be that High ( see : TSM)

CS:GO getting bigger by the day. This, ELEAGUE, the different Majors, DreamHack's, Gfinity, Game Show, etc will make the year's total prize money at least $6mil.

"Online" money is only to be split between the teams that don't manage to qualify for offline finals. 27k$ is for the 5th.

they just used to pay out money for the placings in the online part aswell? or maybe that was another tournament, atleast astralis always used to top thouse qualifier groups and get like 25k dollars.

Where is the prize money for the regular season for 1st to 4th place? Is their prize just making it to the LAN finals? I thought the top 4 regular season teams got prize money in the previous 2 seasons.
