mouz knock LDLC to lower bracket

mousesports beat LDLC White in two maps in their opening match at Acer Predator Masters Season 2 on de_dust2 (21-18) after a huge comeback and de_cobblestone (16-13) to move onto the next round.

The match kicked off on de_dust2, mousesport’s map, with LDLC White taking the A site after both teams traded one frag. mouz played the retake, but Timothée "DEVIL" Démolon and Simon "Fuks" Florysiak came huge with 3 and 2 frags each to win the after plant situation.

LDLC White went into the first gun round with a 0-3 lead, after winning both anti-ecos. Fuks opened up the round with a quick push on long, and LDLC White found themselves on the upper hand planting A and taking the round.

LDLC White did not give up on the aggression, as round after round they ran into sites trading frags and getting themselves in upper hand situations. mousesports was having trouble building up an economy, but thanks to the losing bonus money after failing to get on the board seven rounds in a row, they were able to pull off a full buy following one of several ecos. The Germans did not falter this time, and stopped a mid/cat push to put their first round on the board.

LDLC White didn’t lose their grip on the game, however, as a double entry by DEVIL put his team in a strong position after an A execute, and the French team continued adding tallies to their sheet. By the 10th round, things started to really look grim for mouz as the Ts were running around them, winning all the trades and forcing themselves into bomb sites.

With 1-10 on the board, mousesports finally gained clear control of a round as Johannes "nex" Maget and Denis "denis" Howell showed some aggression pushing B tunnels and stopping LDLC on their tracks. The German duo then blended a tec9+armor buy the next round on B to add one more on the boards. mouz finally managed to close out the last couple rounds and bring it back to a 10-5, holding on to what looked like a runaway game.

A fantastic one deag from Nikola "NiKo" Kovač opened the pistol round, although Matthieu "matHEND" Roquigny turned it around with two USP kills of his own on short. In a reckless spurt of aggression, Fuks pushed mid and got instantly traded, giving the mouz squad a free road to the A site, where they planted and held it to win the pistol round.

nex appeared big time to help his team come back on de_dust2

With the two anti-ecos won, mouz were looking at getting themselves well on their way, and Timo "Spiidi" Richter winning a 1v1 after plant against Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro was exactly what the team needed.

With the map tied 10-10, LDLC White turned up the heat by gaining early mid control and taking down player after player pocketing a round to stop the Ts from getting on a roll. The only problem is they weren’t able to keep it up, as DEVIL lost the first duel of the next round to Spiidi, putting his team on the defensive. mouz executed calmly on A and took the round, resetting the French team’s money.

The match was starting to turn sour for LDLC White, as the superiority they had shown at the beginning of their T side vanished and their adversaries were now in full control of the match.

With 12-14 on the board, mousesports got greedy, and with two AWPs pushing through mid double doors and three rushing dark, they got blended by LDLC’s players, who then chained two more rounds to tie the map up.

With 14-14 on the scoreboard, Chris "chrisJ" de Jong got a pick on matHEND on B and denis running in and clearing the site allowed the German team to gain control and plant the bomb while the surviving members of LDLC White saved their rifles long to have a solid buy on the deciding round.

The deciding round saw nex and Spiidi down a man after planting A with all three remaining members of LDLC White running from CT spawn to elevator. nex and Spiidi set-up the crossfire taking down two, but Fuks, who had been boosted on A platform was able to trade both frags and defuse the bomb pushing the map into overtime.

The first round of OT went LDLC White’s way, despite Antoine "to1nou" Pirard whiffing a shot pushing down cat and getting dropped to 10hp. mouz then got stopped on their tracks trying to execute on A. LDLC White couldn’t then go on to win the second round despite DEVIL being able to retake the B site after a mousesports plant, since Spiidi managed to hold on alive long enough for the bomb to go off.

Spiidi clutched a 2v1, planting with 10 seconds left and taking out DEVIL and matHEND—who were stubbornly trying to jump shoot from elevator to platform—to keep his team on the upper hand on the first half of overtime. LDLC White, however, were going to keep it neck and neck by cancelling mousesports in the next round, tying it 17-17. A simple but clean execute on A by the German side would mean they would go ahead into the second half of the overtime.

LDLC White forced themselves onto the B site, overpowering denis and nex to take the first round of the second half of the overtime and tie the match back up. mouz were going to stay in the lead, however, as they won the next two rounds to put themselves on a double match point. The last round saw trades go down on long A until LDLC White were down 2v3, with matHEND and bodyy trying to hold an after plant on A to keep the map alive. mouz were able take the site back, however, and pocket the first map.

LDLC White won the pistol round losing only one player on the CT side, and looked like they would spring ahead. Nothing farther than the truth, however, as mousesports stopped a long A push and the German side slowly ground the French team down. LDLC White forced up and executed A, trading frag for frag until Fuks remained the last man alive and kept the game unstable.

LDLC broke mousesport’s economy by winning a third round and looked like they could resume where they left off at the pistol round, getting themselves the 4-1 advantage. LDLC took the A site on the first real gun round of the game, planting and taking it as mousesports played a very defensive brand of CS and saved three guns. A double AWP set-up with chrisJ and NiKo wielding them didn’t yield results as LDLC got themselves uo 4v2 and executed on B without problems.

Niko also played a big part in the team's success against LDLC White

With LDLC ahead 1-6, it seemed as if the French team was going to run away with it like they did on de_dust2. NiKo and co. had a different idea, though, as they linked four rounds in a row to get themselves within one. While LDLC had been making a lot of mistakes and losing dubious rounds, they very calmly put themselves on the upper hand on the 12th round, and not allowing mousesports to get a read on them took out their opposition one by one to take the round and keep mousesports underneath.

In the words of Matt "sadokist" Trivett, "still things not alright on the terrorist side." LDLC lost the next two rounds, the lead, and even the last round of the side as their tec9s weren’t enough to breach the A site and they lost the half 7-8. NiKo killed four on the pistol round to put his team even farther in the lead, who after winning the anti-ecos got themselves up 11-7 and in a good position to take the map. LDLC had a different plan, however, as they won two rounds in a row and a third after forcing mousesports on an eco. One round behind, LDLC were able to carry their winning momentum and stop mousesports to tie the game and force them on another eco and eventually putting theselves in the lead, 11-12.

mousesports were finally able to cut LDLC White’s wings as they executed on A and traded their way down to a 2v1. Fuks then managed to force a 1v1 while the bomb ticked away, but nex traded him and gave his team some room to breathe as they would go on to win the next two rounds.

Down 14-12, bodyy decided to buy an AWP in a desperation attempt, which ended up giving him the first two frags of the round and LDLC were able to stop a maimed mousesports from executing on B. The following round Fuks and matHEND were put on a 2v1 against denis and were on the brink of bringing the match back to a tie, but the German player pulled through for his team in the clutch after running from B and planting A, and leaving mouz on match point after taking down both rival players. A match point they would go on to win the following round.
