HR over Vexed; to upper semis

HellRaisers are the third team to advance to upper bracket semi-finals, where they will meet FlipSid3 tomorrow, after defeating Vexed 2-0 (de_inferno 16-14, de_cbble 16-14).

To start de_inferno off, Patrik "Zero" Žúdel's and Emil "kUcheR" Akhundov's doubles allowed HellRaisers to take a 3-0 lead before Vexed replied with two in a row on the B bombsite. When the Poles decided to switch things up with a quick A execute, Zero shut them down with an ace for 4-2.

Another round for Vexed was quickly responded to by HellRaisers, who got four in return. The European mixture then gave Karol "rallen" Rodowicz a couple of picks on banana and middle, and Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný's agression backfired in the following few rounds, as Vexed clawed back to a 7-8 scoreline at halftime.

A pistol round win allowed Vexed to take the lead for the first time on the first map at 9-8 after surviving a scary forcebuy, although another one, with mostly galils and low utility, was successful. HR retook the lead for 13-9 eventually after a double entry from kUcheR on banana.

After Vexed got another round on the board HellRaisers ran into a stack on the B bombsite in the last 20 seconds, and Bartosz "Hyper" Wolny's side managed to tie it up again at 13-13. HellRaisers then broke the streak with two in a row, with oskar picking up a triple in a 3-on-3 situation in one of the rounds. At 15-14, it looked like the game was going into overtime, as HR were stuck in a 2-on-4 afterplant situation, but kUcheR saved the day with three kills from two angles.

STYKO was HellRaisers' point man in this series

After switching over to de_cbble HellRaisers kicked it off in a similar fashion, picking up the pistol round and both following rounds before dropping the first gunround. This time Vexed took advantage of the situation and based on rallen and Hyper doubles in a B defence took five in a row in total for a 5-3 lead.

Two A bombsite hits in a row saw HellRaisers take a 6-5 lead, before an attempt at a split A crumbled for them, and Vexed took two in a row. Due to losing a lot of weapons in the process the Polish side were quite low on money when HellRaisers won the 14th round, which meant that Kyrylo "ANGE1" Karasiow's side would switch over at 8-7.

Winning the pistol round pushed them further in the lead, but thanks to a plant in the first round Vexed were able to execute a smoke-off B bombsite tactic, thanks to which they retook the lead at 10-9. HellRaisers quickly replied with three rounds of their own for 12-10 before Damian "Furlan" Kislowski stepped up to the task and won a quick and patient 1-on-3. Two more kills from the same player in a 3-on-3 helped Vexed even things out at 12-12.

The following two rounds were split between the teams, but it also meant that Vexed had to go on an eco, as HellRaisers were closing in on finishing the series at 14-13. Two B pushes in a row from the Poles afterwards, HellRaisers were in the driving seat as they broke their opponents' economy once more, and the last round was merely a test of their anti-forcebuy approach.
