mixwell: "we did pretty well"

The two local teams are the first to head out. We had the chance to talk to Óscar "Mixwell" Cañellas to learn a little bit about gBots, hear their impressions from the tournament, and their hopes for the future.

The two Spanish teams were, expectedly, the first to drop out, although gBots didn't go down without a fight as they were able to take Dignitas all the way on de_cobblestone (16-14), and put in a solid 13 rounds against fnatic on de_inferno. Despite not being able to turn on the heat against EnVyUs on de_mirage this morning, the team sees the event as a success.

Making two top teams struggle as they have, even if just in a best-of-one at an event with a more for fun tournament system and with Katowice in just a couple weeks, will surely be a big boost in confidence for the Spanish team, who will seek to keep growing this year.

M1xwell played amazing!

gBots showed a good fight, not like x6tence. If gBots would have played against Vexed they would have had more than decent chances of winning the game considering how well they did against Dignitas and Fnatic.

''people thinking gbots will achieve/qualify for anything in the future are idiots.'' Why not? I mean, I can see them above teams like mouz, csgl, gambit, vexed, LDLC, YouPorn, flipsid3, hellraisers, Efrag, etc if they stick toguether for 3 or 4 months at this point. They got the individual skill + they showed some good teamplay yesterday. inb4 static.hltv.org//images/flag/es.gif

Then you are one dumb fuck. the ONLY teams caring about this event is the spanish teams, all other teams has a far more important tournament coming up (major + qualification for major). Also, the fact that he is happy when he lost tells me they will never be GOOD. Come back in 2 months, i promiss you, these noobs havent shown anything.

He is grateful, not happy. Grateful for what he made with a 5 man lineup that has been toguether for less than 2 weeks considering kana joined them 10 days before. And again, idgaf about this tournament, but as I said their performance was promising to fuck any of the teams I listed for you above. Fnatic not taking seriously a tournament are 2 or 3 times better than half of the teams I listed above. U got me? + dignitas isn't fnatic, dignitas want to win and they made dignitas go through a bad moment on their own best map (cbble).

Dignitas doesnt care about this tournament, i have sources, good sources, saying they NEED to qualify for the major, and will just do random stuff in official untill then, and therefore there is absolutelly NO POINT for them to do anything more than absolutelly minimum to beat the noobs. Ill talk to you in 2-4 months. Your "promising" shitteam would either have disbanded or not achieved anything at all.

Did I say they will surely fuck everyone in 3 or 4 months?, I said I can see them, that doesn't imply they will surely do it. Everyone denying that's posible is a fucking braindead with 0 understanding on the matter. I guess I'm done with you here.

don't fight with him, he has "good sources" lol.. watchout! Also, he's just a casual, he can't understand that even if teams like fnatic or dignitas don't take this seriously, they actually use those tournaments to practice basic stuff.. He probably never played any game at decent level, and in CS is also around MM LE, my bet.. The skill/experience gap between gbots and the other teams is so big, yet, they showed that they have the will to improve. And that's what's important.

Why would they prioritize it 100%, showing new strats, holds etc when a major qualifier is comming up with more that 22K dollars for each player in stickermoney? edit: theres a reason low-tier teams have a good run sometimes, like LC during Gfinity 2014, Finnish team in DH stockholm etc.. Low teams have the shot to do well, when the good ones doesnt give a fk

-1 I was always saying the same. But then realized how important is torpe in that team. That team is very emotional and needs from someone mature to take part when tilted situations come in. What he lacks in skill he makes it up with attitude. Although he isn't that bad skillwise. + no torpe = no mixwell, u can already feel that. Let that team play for a while, don't judge now.

If Tier1 or Tier2 team wants to sign Mixwell they have to sign Torpe too? "no torpe = no mixwell" is a lie. They are a good friends, and play very well together a long time, but it's not true that "no torpe = no mixwell" Mix play in Atlantis and Epsilon very very well without Torpe. Kairi, Lowel and Mix have potential to play vs T1 or T2 teams. Torpe and Kanarito no. I want to see arki in this team, and donQ in good level. Two good players to cover secondary bombs. In Spain there is no a Wonder Child, like Coldzera, like Device or like Olof. Spain needs the 5 best players by position in a Team.

He's not intelligent in the game. Can he learn? Yes, because he is young. But there are players with more individual skill, and more Intelligent that cover the same bombs. Spain need the 5 best in a team. Forget spain scene, Focus only in Europe.

ofc if a tier1 team comes to sign mixwell, mixwell will most likely say yes in 90% of the times despite his friendship, that's a dream for him. But he won't kick him just to add another spaniard. It's not in their plans to make changes atm, that's why torpe won't get replaced now. Agree with you about kanarito tho, he is individually skilled but he made to many mistakes that literally costed them both games against Dignitas and Fnatic, he pussied more than once as well when he had the chance to make his plays. But still understandable, it was his second or third lan and it's not that easy to play against people who lives out of this game. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and the chance to work toguether, they earned it toguether.

No. :D But in my match he got about 50 frags. It was mirage and he just rushed with awp and killed everybody. And I had 20 efficacy in cevo and 17 rws in ESEA, so I'm not even that bad a player. I have played with and against many pro players in 1.6 (for example aslak in his prime) and also CSGO and I have never got rekt that much.

people saying that they did bad because they lost are forgetting the teams that they had to face and how close they were to beat them.. gbots with 2 weeks (if I recall correctly) of practice together were able to pull this performances, if they stay together they can easily compete in the tier 2 teams.
