HR take down Liquid in Columbus

Liquid have recently added Kenneth "⁠koosta⁠" Suen to their lineup but because koosta qualified with another team, Eric "⁠adreN⁠" Hoag is back with them for only this tournament and if they qualify, the $1,000,000 major.

To start the game, T-sided Liquid decided to try a mid-to-B push but it did not prove to be successful with HellRaisers stopping the American team on their tracks. HR didn't make a mistake in the eco rounds of their opponents and Emil "⁠kUcheR⁠" Akhundov clutched in the first gun round when he was in a 1v2 situation to bring the scoreline to 4-0.

Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin & co. got their first round after giving up six to the European squad. Having taken the wind on their backs, Liquid earned themselves four rounds to put their rivals in a tough economical situation. The streak ended at six as Tomáš "⁠oskar⁠" Šťastný dealt huge amounts of damage to Liquid players with a Scout. The half concluded with Kyrylo "⁠ANGE1⁠" Karasiow & co. 8-7 ahead.

Despite winning the pistol in the second half, Liquid lost the anti-eco which led to four consecutive rounds by HellRaisers. They had the chance to pick up another one but couldn't capitalize as adreN secured a round for his team with a quad-kill (12-9).

Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella prevented a match point to get his team their eleventh round followed by a 5-on-5 retake by the Americans (14-12). They went on to get a match point and had a 2v1 advantage on the last round to close it out but ANGE1 had a crazy highlight moment as he killed his last opponent on A site while jumping which meant they were going into overtime.

HellRaisers only got one of the three rounds available on T-side and started their CT-side 16-17 behind. Liquid gained a 5-on-3 advantage and planted the bomb but HellRaisers pulled off an amazing retake to tie the game at 17-17. The Americans once again had a match point but Hiko fell short in a 1v2 as oskar came up big. HellRaisers finished it off 22-20 in the end.
