Gambit stun Cloud9 in Columbus

Gambit are through to the Upper Bracket final of Group D at the offline qualifier for MLG Columbus after beating Cloud9 16-9 on de_cache.

Cloud9 were the first team to claim bragging rights, having picked up the pistol round following a trio of kills by Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip during a B push. The home side were, however, unable to follow it up as they were punished for not fully comitting to the B site, giving Gambit enough time to regroup and secure the area.

Gambit took control of proceedings and got out to a 6-1 lead as Cloud9 continued to struggle to break through the CIS team's defensive line. The North American team then finally picked up a gun round, but they were reset right after thanks to some stellar AWP shots by Rustem "⁠mou⁠" Telepov. Without any chance to build on the few rounds that went their way, Cloud9 went into the break down 3-12.

Gambit move on in Columbus

Dmitry "⁠hooch⁠" Bogdanov's men piled more misery on Cloud9 by winning the pistol round on the Terrorist side and the corresponding anti-ecos, bringing the scoreline to 15-3. Cloud9 then found a lifeline as they put together a small run of rounds, forcing Gambit to call a tactical pause. The momentum had shifted in favor of Cloud9, but Gambit ended the home side's hopes of a massive comeback with a Tec9 A rush.

Vexed was actually easy. Train is their best map and Gruby and Furlan are always on fire on it while Hyper is largely irrelevant. If it was cbble, overpass or mirage then not having Hyper would be a problem. But hey, you need to watch their games to know that, not just look at numbers.

Those guys have done great things back in 1.6. Love to see them doing great again. Dosia's an amazing rifler, and AdreN so experienced. I hope they make it to the major alongside Renegades. NA CS needs to be slapped in their faces. No Brazilian team should be able to get to NA and rekt the shit out of their teams. Something's wrong. Nothing against my country, but it's like NA stopped moving forward and just watched Brazilians improving.
