F3 overrun TS; to the major

Previously at the MLG Columbus 2016 Main Qualifier, FlipSid3 were in the winners' match against G2 after beating Selfless and had a chance to qualify but Kévin "⁠Ex6TenZ⁠" Droolans & company prevailed, clinching the spot. Their opponent Tempo Storm lost to G2 in their opening match and knocked Selfless out in the elimination game to have a shot at qualifying.

João "⁠felps⁠" Vasconcellos's triple-kill to open up the B-site did not suffice as FlipSid3 had a successful retake and Vladyslav "⁠bondik⁠" Nechyporchuk's anti-eco ace earned his team the second round. The early buy in the third round was shut down by Yegor "⁠markeloff⁠" Markelov's team (3-0). After cutting the deficit to two at 4-6, the Brazilians gave away a round but got it right back with Lucas "⁠LUCAS1⁠" Teles' opening kill (5-7).

Georgi "⁠WorldEdit⁠" Yaskin and Andrey "⁠B1ad3⁠" Gorodenskiy were on a 2v3 retake situation and defused the bomb. The half ended 10-5 in favor of FlipSid3. The Ukranians secured the pistol round by rushing the A-site and followed up with the subsequent two rounds (13-5). WorldEdit showed off with an incredible quad-kill to acquire the map point and they closed it out by winning the last nine rounds.

Winning their third pistol round in the series put FlipSid3 in a fairly advantageous position on the T-side of de_train but this time, Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles's team secured the first weapon round. It didn't help much though, as they kept struggling with their economy when they lost the next round. When the score was 1-8, Tempo Storm called for a timeout.

The breather helped them get only two more rounds in the half and FlipSid3 put themselves in a great situation by closing the half 13-2 ahead. Tempo Storm only got three more rounds as markeloff & co. finished it off 16-5.
