Na`Vi, NiP garner Group A wins

In some of the final games of the first day at IEM Katowice, Natus Vincere took down TheMongolz 16-6 on de_cbble while NiP scored a surprise victory over Luminosity with a 16-13 score on de_mirage.

For the next two group stage matches at IEM Katowice's Group A, Natus Vincere looked to improve their 2-2 record in the group by taking on the weakest team of the bunch, The MongolZ.

On the other hand, Luminosity of Brazil who remained undefeated in the group faced off against Ninjas in Pyjamas, who stood at 1-3 and therefore had no chance of advancing to the playoffs of IEM Katowice, marking the first time the organisation will be unable to play in the Spodek Arena.

friberg played a big part in the Luminosity takedown

Despite being fan favourites as a team who struggled to obtain visas from the event and won the Asia Minor, The MongolZ had to concede with an eventual 0-5 record as their game with Natus Vincere started with a promising 6-9 half for the Mongolian team on the T-side of de_cbble, but saw Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács & co. run away to a 16-6 victory on the second half.

if mouz would have won they would be on 9 points, and fnatic on 6. so in what way was that usless?

Hmm, i actually don't know what would then happen. Because Fnatic beat NaVi, NaVi beat mouz and Mouz would have beaten Fnatic. Interesting, too bad it didn't happen.

sorry, all 3 teams would have been on 9 points, creating a tie-triangle, and then I think the round diff. would decide who would advance

But in the format here on HLTV it says quarter finals, which means 8 teams, aka. 4 from each group, right? So Mouz/NiP is still in it?

Doubtful, they had nothing to gain from trying hard, they were guaranteed the group win regardless. Any tactics they used would be used against them in the semi's, literally no point to even try.

no, you're wrong. you're phrasing it as LG didn't try and therefore NiP got the ez win. LG did try obviously and got defeated by a solid NiP.

i would sya, that lost versus fnatic, cuz they were so close to win it 16:13, but they throw it :( Respect for them, they have a potential, pyth got unlcuky, maybe nervous at the start of the tournament, would be better if they played versus mongolz first, would have a nice warmup :)

If fnatic win this, their round balance from this game will count as 0 from 15-15 or the difference in OT?
2016-03-02 21:55

So to LG #1 = Fnatic must win by max 2 rounds vs mouz? If they win 4:0 in overtime Fnc will be 1#? or priority is head 2 head match?
