CPH Games reveals first invites

The organisers of Copenhagen Games have announced the first batch of teams invited to compete in its Counter-Strike tournament.

From March 23-26, the Øksnehallen exhibition centre, located at the heart of Copenhagen, will stage the 2016 edition of Copenhagen Games, one of the oldest and most prestigious gaming events in the Nordic region.

Sixteen teams, eight invited plus eight coming from the on-site qualifier, will battle it out for their share of a €30,000 prize pool, with the winner taking home €17,000.

ENCE to attend CPH Games

After previously unveiling Dignitas as one of the invited sides, CPH Games has now announced that invitations have also been issued to ENCE, SK and E-frag.net.

Due to the fact that only three days separate Copenhagen Games from MLG Columbus, it is unlikely to see teams attending the $1 million Valve-sponsored tournament choose to compete at the Danish event.

The last four invites will be revealed by Copenhagen Games' organisers shortly. The list of participants for the event currently looks as follows:

Astralis mostlikely wouldnt play that considering the major coming up and so wouldnt most teams. It removes 3 extra days of practicing which is crucial to make sure you have every strat perfect the last days arent for new strats but for just perfecting them and have everything perfect with also a plan mostlikely ALSO the fact that the major is in USA they wouldnt make it.

The comment you made a response to said "t1 teams" which is Astralis, and MLG Colombus is just 3 days later which means they'd rather prac for that obviously. That being said, they have a 10k salary and sponsor money etc. on the side, so wtf is 17k to them anyway?

add the fact that astralis makes more than half that prizepool each month in salary, it makes more sense for them to focus on the major

Would be nice to see some tier 2/3 NA teams there such as: OpTic, Selfless, compLexity, NRG, Winterbots (not all just some suggestions) Also: Tempo Storm & Renegades

those teams would just get stomped so i don't see the point to invite them.

NA teams have gone to CPH games a lot of years, even clg.red and small teams like torqued went one year. Orgs got money anyways and these tier 2 NA teams need more LAN experience.

Yea I would like to see NA teams or AU teams attend but just not sure how much these org's calculate money risk vs reward when currently there looks to be a lot happening in the domestic scene for NA right now. But its always good to see the different styles playing against each other, hopefully something can happen and its more than just Nordic teams playing against each other

Mostly probably top 5 ranked teams, might not attend this event. But bottom half are attending it.

Would be cool if they invited a Brazilian based team. KeyD is a good option. And the organization can afford the travel costs. The last 4 spots could go to TS, KeyD, OpTiC and RNG. Quality teams and still high tier2 level
