CPL to host 2009 events
The Cyberathlete Professional League have announced plans to host two international events in 2009.
According to a statement on CALleague.com, the CPL, LLC have announced plans to host two events next year. The move comes only a few months after the CPL was renamed CPL, LLC after being bought out by the Abu Dhabi investment group based in the United Arab Emirates.

Before the end of 2008, CPL, LLC will announce the details for two large international events to be hosted in 2009. Various game titles across multiple platforms are currently being reviewed for inclusion in these events, with the objective of including both competitive and entertainment titles. One of these events will be hosted in the United States; the location of the second event is currently undecided.
The press release goes on to describe how the CPL, LLC will be hiring people for the organisation of the new events as well as explaining how they are attempting to sign corporate deals with multiple media and gaming technology properties for either acquisition or partnership.
