SK Gaming win Global Challenge LA

The Global Challenge in Los Angeles comes to an end as SK Gaming defeat Made in Brazil in the grand final.

SK Gaming got their first title with the new team when they defeated Made in Brazil in the grand final at the Global Challenge in Los Angeles. Beforehand SK Gaming had crushed Evil Geniuses in the consolidation final and the Swedes looked really strong. In the final a fairly new Made in Brazil had to show what they were capable of. Recently returned cogu should once again be calling the shots and firing off the green sniper, something SK Gaming must have noticed during the final.

Starting on inferno the SK Gaming dominance from the match versus Evil Geniuses continued. If it was just a warmed up SK Gaming or a plain cold Made in Brazil is hard to tell, but for a fact, SK Gaming nailed first map 16:3. On to the final map, it should once again come down to train, a map played a lot at the Global Challenge in Los Angeles. This match should however be closer. Made in Brazil could pick the CT side as they won the knife-round. SK Gaming did however gather quite some terrorist rounds as the first half ended 8:7 in favor of SK Gaming. The last half-time of the tournament should end up making the match tie, which sent the teams into overtime. SK Gaming took the first half 3:2 as CT. The Second half overtime also went to SK Gaming, as the Swedes got the needed 3 rounds to secure the overall win.

SK Gaming secure Europe a extra spot for the Extreme Masters III Global Finals, while Made in Brazil secured a extra spot for America.

Final Standings

1. Sweden SK Gaming - 25.000$
2. Brazil Made in Brazil - 10.000$
3. United States Evil Geniuses - 6.000$
4. Poland MYM - 4.000$
5-6. United States Paragon of Virtue - 2.500$
5-6. Finland GamePlay - 2.500$
7-8. Sweden fnatic
7-8. United States x3o

This ends the first Global Challenge, next up will be Montreal in Canada, which we also will be providing full coverage of. Drop by our coverage section if you want results, demos and photos from the Global Challenge in Los Angeles.

This just proves that SK gaming really needed a change to win some major tournament. Yes spawn is a big lost, but face it, he was getting overrated (good anyway but still.) and some fresh blood and skill like zet's done the trick. GG SK last 4 matches (2mibrs MYM and EG) completely insane.
