HLTV.org mobile app released

We are happy to announce that the official HLTV.org app has been released today for both iOS and Android so that you can get instant updates on news, matches and more wherever you go.

For the past few months HLTV.org developers have been working on our official mobile app, which has up to this point been in a beta stage which you could have tested for yourselves.

As of today the 1.1 version of the HLTV.org app is ready to be downloaded on both iOS and Android just before MLG Columbus rolls around with the first matches, set to begin tomorrow at 16:00 with Ninjas in Pyjamas and FlipSid3 in group A.

The primary purpose of the application is to provide push notifications (not to create a new interface), which have been available on the desktop site for a while now, about everything happening on HLTV.org - news, live matches, events and forums.

You can choose to receive instant notifications on whatever you'd like, such as individual matches in the Matches page, all matches from a specific event such as MLG Columbus, news and more.

Everything can be set up in detail according to your needs in Settings -> Notifications the same way as on the desktop site, as you can see in the picture above.

Please, if you encounter any problems let us know in comments below or via personal messages, as the app is still in early stages and may be bugged.

Right, so it appears that after starting the APP for the first time you need to log in. Apparently if you do so you can't change notification settings, you need to log out first. So you log out, change settings, restart the app. Then you switch the app on again and TADAM you're magically logged in! but you can't change notification settings again ;)

Nice app, but please use iOS guidelines for mobile devices or android, text or even Ecommerce should be 14-16px in height, buttons are decent 36-45px height depending what you are displaying But please fix styling and header area if possible at the start, only saying this because I come from a UX background for responsive design and kills me to see a great site not perform better

Even do some gorilla testing to improve the ux / CX, the header is causing problems for comment system as well and hesder is double fixed, simple things like text with icons to help ux on the site - good start but lots needs to be done, nail it and you could sell the app or hltv.org for a ridiculous amount in the future :)
