WCG USA took place simultaneously with Global Challenge Los Angeles; the best American teams should have a shot at qualifying for World Cyber Games.
The team to eliminate mTw, Paragon of Virtue, should also do quite well to begin with, in the WCG qualifier. In the upperbracket semi-final they sent Evil Geniuses to the lowerbracket by winning in overtime. Later they should also see themselves being knocked into the lowerbracket as x3o won the upperbracket final 16:11. Evil Geniuses and Paragon of Virtue should then again face each other in the lowerbracket final. Evil Geniuses this time managed to secure a win and a ticket to the grand final versus x3o. In the final, x3o only had to win one map, which they did with a 16:12 victory on dust2.
The American team x3o will be dropping into group F at the World Cyber Games Grand Finals, this year taking place in Cologne, Germany.
x3o has a better roster than EG, EG just played fairly well at an event they had prepared for that x3o had not had much time at all because it was a last minute thing for them. x3o just happened to lose to a PoV team who had beaten them 3x in a row and who surprised alot a people with how well they played in this tournamet. Except for the loss to Gameplay, PoV was pretty competitive.

they destroyed an under performing team "fnatic" and beat MYM, 16-2, who did fucking bad too, being knocked out by SK 16-2. Then they were destroyed by mibr and SK 16-2 and 16-1, what an international performance... And losing to x3o twice in the same qualifier means they didn't deserve the spot more than x3o! even if I would have liked to see EG go to Cologne too :)
