jdm64: "Good comms were key"

CLG took down Gambit 2-1 and made history by becoming the second North American team to advance to the playoffs of a Major following Liquid. We spoke with the team's AWPer Josh 'jdm64' Marzano after the victory.

The third decider match of the third day of the MLG Columbus Major was a showdown between American team CLG and Russian-Kazakh-Finnish team Gambit with the former emerging victorious after three maps.

The victory made history as it was the fourth time a North American team has advanced from groups at a Major, the first time two North American teams have made it out of groups, and the first time a North American team is guaranteed at least a semifinal placing since DreamHack Winter 2013.

Following this victory, HLTV.org talked to Josh "jdm64" Marzano to gauge his thoughts; the interview can be found below.

You will be able to find all of our future interviews from the Major, as well as highlight videos at our YouTube channel which can be found here.

Lol I like how Liquid vs Clg is the only close one. Based on how Clg played against gambit id almost call a 2-0 and go 2-1 Lg vs Vp

Didnt lose, we left the South Vietnamese in a pretty good position. They just were corrupt and didn't want to fight, that's on them. Also denmark would still be part of the reich without 'Murica so ur welcome cuck.

Their shallow map pool got the best of them. All of their significant wins so far been BO1 wins on cache or train. In a BO3, their chances of winning are much lower.

They can play any map, they're just probably the most inconsistent team in CS history. You honestly won't see this team win 3 maps in a row, nor lose 3 in a row. It's cringy to watch how good they can be, then play like this at the same time.
