GODSENT to playoffs over CLG

After the shocking match that saw Luminosity get eliminated by TYLOO, CLG and GODSENT fought in a best-of-three series with a goal of advancing to the playoffs at DreamHack Masters Malmö.

GODSENT started on the T-side of Overpass and secured the pistol round without losing a single player as Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson got three kills. Despite giving away two kills in the second round, CLG fought back to win a force-buy and went on to get two more rounds.

The Swedish team won the fifth round thanks to Lekr0's opening kill but their economy got reset in the following round. Markus "⁠pronax⁠" Wallsten & co. kept making damage but failed to follow it up with their force-buys (6-2).

CLG won an incredible round as Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik & Stephen "⁠reltuC⁠" Cutler were left 2v5 against an eco but the American duo came on top to extend their team's lead to 7-2. As CLG picked up their ninth round, GODSENT called for a timeout.

After an eco round, GODSENT grabbed their third round but that was the only one they would get in the rest of the half as it was 12-3 at halftime in favor of CLG. tarik paved the way for his team with 20 kills in the first half.

pronax got a triple-kill in the pistol round to keep his team in the match and the Swedes won the anti-eco rounds as well. CLG gained a 5v2 advantage in the first weapon round but failed to capitalize on it as Andreas "⁠znajder⁠" Lindberg & Mathias "⁠pauf⁠" Köhler stopped the Americans (12-7).

With the wind on their back GODSENT reached the double-digits but CLG woke up afterwards to get two rounds in a row as Jacob "⁠FugLy⁠" Medina got entry kills on both of them (14-10). GODSENT tied it at 14-14. The Swedes took the match point with a B-site retake and almost took the map with Simon "⁠twist⁠" Eliasson's defuse but reltuC got the kill at the last second to send it to overtime.

The first round of overtime was won by CLG but GODSENT answered with two of their own, including the 2v3 in the last round of the half. pauf's double entry gave GODSENT two match points and they finished it off 19-16, completing their comeback.

CLG were the ones on the T-side at the start of Cache and they secured the first round of the match. GODSENT won the force buy as they pressed on and reached five rounds (5-1). FugLy got two kills on two CTs pushing the blue door and the American team earned their second round.

CLG turned a 2v5 disadvantage into a round victory on the B-site as Josh "⁠jdm64⁠" Marzano got a quad-kill. The following round saw the Swedish team ecoing but things went sideways as GODSENT gained a 4v2 advantage but reltuC went huge with a 1v2 clutch to tie it at 5-5. reltuC's clutch at the end of the half gave CLG their seventh round as they trailed 8-7.

The clean pistol round victory by the Swedes was a good sign for their chances and they followed it up with two more rounds, making it 11-7. twist's double entry in the fourth round assured another win for pronax & company. CLG grabbed the following round although they only had an M4A1-S and pistols. GODSENT won the map 16-8.
