Brazilian sweep in DH Austin openers

Luminosity and Tempo Storm have won their DreamHack ZOWIE Open Austin opening matches, defeating Splyce (16-5 on Train) and NRG (16-5 on Cache) respectively.

The DreamHack ZOWIE Open stop in Austin, Texas kicked off in the Texan afternoon with a best-of-one Group A opening match between Luminosity, the last Major winners], and Splyce, who were using Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir and Jaryd "summit" Lazar as stand-ins for the event.

With the map being Train, the Brazilian side decided to right away set the tone of the game as Marcelo "coldzera" David picked up three USP kills on the B-site to give Luminosity the first pistolround.

Tempo Storm and Luminosity won big in their Austin openers

This theme (of Luminosity's superiority) was dominant during the first half, as the Brazilian team managed to come out on top of many afterplant retakes and clutch situations (including Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo winning a one-versus-three) to end the half 14-1. Despite Splyce attempting to mount a defense of their own on their CT-side, it was Luminosity who walked away with the map win with little effort, winning 16-5.

The second opening match took place in Group B and featured Brazilian team Tempo Storm, currently ranked 10th in the world, against NRG, a scrappy North American team comprising a German and a Serbian players in its ranks as well.

Off the back of Henrique "HEN1" Teles getting three USP kills on the team's CT-side pistolround, Tempo Storm powered ahead to an early lead, but a couple of clever executes from Fatih "gob b" Dayik & co. gave NRG the first gunround and the next two rounds. Once again however, the Brazilian team proved to be a worthy defender and finished the half up 11-4.

However, Tempo Storm stormed onto the B-site on their T-side pistolround and continued denying map and game control to NRG, and ultimately won the map 16-5 to advance to the Group B winners' match.

why can't NA improve? Just pathetic, people should send more invites to upcoming teams in Brazil, they are probably better than half of those NA teams attending this tournament.

just be happy that brazil is very guud now. liquid played rly well with simple but rip and so many orgs in na and many new faces.. na always lacked internal competition to get to the next level and now there is SO much competition in the NA scene, they can only get better. LG > >> > > NA tempo storm better than clg and liquid and c9 ? we'll see in this event we'll see which team with new faces will step up. i hope it's complexity :^)

Brazil doing wonders, if one more brazilian team emerges and moves to NA then we might see TOP3 from outside NA. Maybe in 2017 we might see brazilians moving back to their country where competition would be much stronger.
