DreamHack has revealed the invites for the first closed qualifier for its Summer event.

This Sunday, 16 teams from all over Europe will compete online in a single-elimination bracket for a spot in the next DreamHack ZOWIE Open tournament, taking place from June 18-21 in Jönköping as part of the annual DreamHack Summer event.

Eight of those teams have been invited by DreamHack, while the other eight will come from an open 512-team qualifier, scheduled for Saturday.

ENCE will play for a spot at DreamHack Summer

ENCE, who recently added Niko "⁠naSu⁠" Kovanen, Space Soldiers and Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev's Worst Players are some of the teams who will be taking part in the closed qualifier, which will be played in a best-of-three format. The full list of invites is as follows:

The complete schedue for the qualifier is the following:

12:00 - Round of 16
15:00 - Quarter-finals
18:00 - Semi-finals
21:00 - Grand final

Why are teams like Worst Players and Space Soldiers invited over teams like CPH Wolves or SK? Worst Players literally only have s1mple and the rest are nonamers and tier 356. SK has been pretty bad lately but CPH Wolves looks really promising with their 2 new players and they beat both Space Soldiers and Worst Players 2-0. ez Epsilon tho

We, AGG have shown far far better results than 50% of these teams and we haven't been invited to the closed qualifier, which I was told, they invite based by results, I am shocked.

Ence changed their roster, SS can win against Epsilon, s1mple's friends aren't so good so i think SS can win against WP too, Gambit is another better team than SS, idk anything about Binary Dragons but i know they won CIS minor, PENTA is an ESL Pro League team so they're good and last addition AGG is playing good too but SS have victory against AGG so they can win again. Shortly Gambit and Penta are better than SS (mb Ence too, ez for ence). I'm not a SS fanboy but i think SS can/should win against other teams. There's only one spot and it won't be so ez for any team.

inb4 ss lose to team coming from open but really ss have to overperform to win. ofcourse they can win against every team here. but will they? ence&epsilon did very well in minor. wp and penta are pretty dangerous. agg and gambit are more experienced. there isn't any easy team. thats why they have to overperform

We know XANTARES' skills, paz isn't so worse than him i think u know him more than me, DESPE is playing good nowadays and ngiN is the only solid support player in Turkey. I think TuGuX is the weakest and his performance isn't enough for SS because i think mostly he isn't giving his %100 -or he's really bad at playing but his leading is good- u can say he's SS' igl and it's so normal but if this makes SS' loser he should play better. I didn't say they should play like always they have to player better but i don't wanna see their losts against teams like GameAgents in important tournaments no more.
