ECS S1 finalists determined

All eight participating teams at the offline finals of the first season of the Esports Championship Series have been determined following the end of the online playoffs in Europe and North America.

With Astralis, G2, Luminosity Gaming and Cloud9 already through to the ECS finals after finishing top-two in their respective regions, the teams who placed third to sixth were placed in double-elimination brackets to determine the last four sides booking spots at the event in London.

After barely making it to this stage, fnatic proved their critics wrong and topped the European bracket with back-to-back 2-0 wins over Ninjas in Pyjamas and mousesports. The last regional spot ended up going to Richard "Xizt" Landström's side, who won the Consolidation Final after beating mousesports on two maps.

fnatic qualify for ECS finals

Over in North America, Team Liquid, who struggled for form in ELEAGUE, were the third team to secure a spot at the ECS finals after picking up 2-1 and 2-0 wins over OpTic Gaming and CLG, respectively. The holder of the final NA spot is none other than TSM, who bravely survived two elimination matches to finish second in the bracket.

The following eight teams will compete at the ECS Season 1 finals, from June 24-26 in London:

Europe North America
Denmark Astralis Brazil Luminosity
France G2 United States Cloud9
Sweden fnatic United States Liquid
Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas Canada TSM
Sweden Richard 'Xizt' Landström

CLG may have been weakened but 16-4 and 16-7, even if CLG had a 5th they still would have lost

But it's that team effort that can make a big difference. Pita may not be as much of a team player as FugLy was. When they had FugLy they were pretty good even though he usually didn't frag very high. So, he was helping in the team effort sort of way.

Basically same teams as Esl season 3, but now we have TSM instead of Optic. Again, I don't think any NA team gonna pass group stage this time as well, literally 3 wasted slots. All eyes on Astralis, they are going to play their first lan event with Kjaerbye, maybe time for danish CS has come, maybe this is the moment when Astralis stop the choke streak and finally win something big. I hope Olof will recover from his injury for this event and Fnatic start playing at their full potential again. It's not like Wenton is a bad replacement, it's just Olof is too good.

Easy for the EU teams, the NA can't win the EU teams (expect LG). edit: What I am saying isn't because i love LG, it's the truth.
