SK secure second seed over NRG

SK secure the second seed of ELEAGUE's Group C following a double victory over NRG (16-8 on Nuke and 16-5 on Cobblestone).

The final set of matches from the second day of Group C of ELEAGUE was a theoretical battle for the second seed of the group (and thus avoiding playing Astralis in the playoffs) as NRG were looking to win both games and finish above SK.

With Nuke yet again showing up in a SK match, things at first looked bright for NRG as the German-Serbian-American team won the CT pistolround with Peter "ptr" Gurney picking up two kills.

However, Emil "Magisk" Reif (who has been having a phenomenal showing at ELEAGUE compared to his previous offline events) was soon back to putting his team in the driver's seat thanks to a triple kill on the eleventh round that reversed the tide of the game as well as a one versus three on the 14th round.

SK finish 4-2 in Group C and will thus play CLG in the group playoffs

Magisk's contributions and the Danish-Swedish team's overall awakening led them to close out the half only one round behind NRG, 7-8. With SK seemingly well rehearsed on both sides of Nuke, the second half saw Michael "Friis" Jørgensen & co. pick up eight rounds to NRG's one round to close out the first map with a convincing 16-8 victory.

The second map was Cobblestone and it was Asger "AcilioN" Larsen who picked up some clean USP taps for his team on their T-side pistolround to give SK the lead. Despite NRG managing to pick up the first gunround of the game, SK were soon back to leading the map with confident entries onto the B-site and elsewhere.

Andreas "MODDII" Fridh in particular had a commanding first half, getting three entry kills on the eighth round and getting a quad kill and winning a clutch on the 14th round most notably.

SK therefore finished the first half up 11-4 and it was MODDII again who secured a triple kill with the USP for his team on the second pistolround to put SK up 12-4 and to start laying NRG dreams of a victory to bed.

Following the anti-ecos, NRG did manage to string together a clean execute on the B site to give themselves the first gunround and thus begin to attempt a comeback while down 5-14. However, SK buckled down their defense and closed out the map 16-5 in a rather frank manner to therefore secure the second seed while NRG meanwhile finish 1-5 with the fourth seed.

The throw was real, mate. 3 out of 5 astralis players played subpar on the map they did not throw (overpass).

He doesn't want to coach, he got a lucrative offer from C9 and he decided to accept a lower salary just so he can play.
