mTw sends SK home

The last day of the group stage at World e-Spots Masters in Hangzhou, China ended today – mTw sends SK home, mousesports still unbeaten.

Day three at the World e-Sports Masters has finished; now only four teams remain in the tournament. First match of the day was e-STRO taking on wNv in a fight that would have an impact on who would advance to the playoffs. The Koreans from e-STRO tied their two first matches against SK Gaming and mTw, meaning a win in the match against wNv would send them to the playoffs. The match did never get the thrill as one could have hoped for. The Chinese team did not stand a chance against the Koreans, e-STRO crushed wNv with a 16:5 score on nuke.

Match two of the day, fnatic taking on Dragon. The winner of the match could secure a ticket to the playoffs. Dragon had since the suspected win against MYM not been doing so well, as they only managed to get three rounds versus mousesports yesterday. The Chinese team did not stand much of a chance against the Swedes today. A much ignited fnatic clearly wanted the spot in the playoffs, which reflected on the result. The match ended 16:7 on dust2 in favor of fnatic.

Third match of the day should be the most interesting. Group A should be settled when SK Gaming took on mTw in a match to determine who would join e-STRO in the playoffs. The only way SK Gaming could advance was with a win, mTw could do with a win or a tie. SK Gaming won the coin toss and picked the CT side on train. The Danes won an important pistol-round as terrorist, which really set the Danes on fire. Building up a solid lead against the Swedes at some point fell apart, but mTw managed to get a round gap a half-time, with a 9:6 terrorist half. The all important CT pistol-round went to the Danes and no rounds went to SK Gaming as mTw took the following six rounds to secure a 16:6 win on train.

Last match of the day should be a rerun of the final at Global Challenge in Dubai. MYM taking on mousesports in the last group stage match in group b. MYM was already eliminated of the tournament yesterday with a loss against fnatic, but the Polish team could tease the Germans with a tie or a win. MYM found the momentum they lacked since their loss to XLBet.ATS in Dubai. The Polish team started out a very decent CT half on nuke, ending up with mousesports gaining in on them. MYM secured a 9:6 half as CT. Second half with mousesports as CT and the picture changed. The Germans had the momentum and turned around the MYM lead. MYM only managed to get a total of three rounds, before mousesports had found their way to the ten rounds they needed. MYM’s last match ended with another loss, giving them something to think about, as World Cyber Games are just around the corner. The Germans ended up on first place in the group, with three victories out of three possible.

The semi-finals will feature four teams, that all have meet recently. A rerun of KODE5 Global Final, ESWC Masters final and more will take place tomorrow when mTw takes on fnatic in the first semi-final. The Danes won the last match with a close call in Dubai, as they beat fnatic 16:14 in the upperbracket. Win the play mTw found themselves play today against SK Gaming on train, it could look like fnatic will have a hard time tomorrow, at least on the first match, being train.

The second semi-final will be played on Thursday. Korea will face Germany as e-STRO takes on mousesports. The two met last time at ESWC Masters, where the Germans got a comfortable 16:7 victory. The two also met in an intense final at the Extreme Masters II finals earlier this year. Have the Koreans learned how to handle German TNT, or will mousesports crush yet another team on the way to another title?

[upcomingbooked,14,802948]

The semi-finals will be played as best of three maps and once again there will not be any HLTV at all. We will update our coverage section with results and standings during the entire event, and should demos be released by the organizers, we will add them right away.
