Immortals win DH Summer over NiP

Immortals became the champions at DreamHack ZOWIE Open Summer after beating NiP 2-0 in the grand final (16-10 on Cache and 16-13 on Mirage).

The best-of-three grand final in Jönköping started out on Cache with Ninjas in Pyjamas on the T-side. The Swedes were able to plant the bomb and acquire a 4vs2 advantage but Gustavo "⁠SHOOWTiME⁠" Gonçalves's 1vs2 clutch gave Immortals the pistol round. Ninjas in Pyjamas grabbed the fourth round with Jacob "⁠pyth⁠" Mourujärvi's 1vs2 clutch but failed to string more rounds (3-1).

Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg's quad kill gave Ninjas in Pyjamas their third round but Immortals replied with a 3vs3 retake (5-3). f0rest showed up once again, this time with a double entry kill as his team trailed 4-8. Immortals led 9-6 at halftime as Ninjas in Pyjamas won three of the last four rounds of the half.

felps carried the load on Cache

Lucas "⁠LUCAS1⁠" Teles picked up three opening kills in the second half pistol round and Immortals extended their lead to 12-6 after winning the anti-ecos. After the Brazilians got their 14th round, Ninjas in Pyjamas initiated a comeback effort but Immortals closed it out 16-10.

Immortals picked up right where they left off and won the pistol round of Mirage as they started T-side. Although they lost the first weapon round, the Brazilians answered immediately and went on to extend their lead to 7-2.

lucas had 16 kills in the first half of Mirage

Ninjas in Pyjamas got their third round win with Deagles but again failed to start a streak. With the Swedes looking lost, Immortals finished the half 12-3 in front.

The Brazilians came on top of another pistol round and led 13-3, taking a huge step towards the championship. Ninjas in Pyjamas converted six rounds in a row and Immortals called for a timeout to discover a way to negate magic.

LUCAS1 company finally won a round two rounds after the timeout, making it 14-11 but their economy got reset because they lost the subsequent round. Immortals won an eco round to acquire two match points and they finished the match 16-13 ahead, winning the series 2-0 and becoming champions.
