Luminosity outlast NiP at ECS Finals

Luminosity outlived NiP in the opening match of ECS Season 1 Finals as they beat the Swedes 16-12 on Train.

The first match at the ECS Season 1 Finals was between two top five teams Ninjas in Pyjamas and Luminosity. The Swedes starting on the CT-side secured the pistol round as they almost lost a 5vs2 but recovered. Ninjas in Pyjamas grabbed the second round by losing three players and also managed to secure the third.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's double entry kill allowed Luminosity to take the first weapon round and Epitacio "TACO" de Melo repeated what FalleN did in the previous round as the Brazilians took their second round. Luminosity took charge in the first half and led 9-6 as TACO was the most impactful player of the half.

FalleN's AWP reigned supreme in the second half.

The Ninjas were able to grab the second half pistol round as well and survived a scare in the second round as Lincoln "fnx" Lau got two opening kills (9-8). Triple entry by Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi in the first weapon round of the second half gave the lead to Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The Brazilian team had a clean round win to trail 10-12 and then went on to lead to game (13-12). Luminosity closed it out with a 16-12 score and started the tournament with a win.

Glad that all the SK drama doesn't seem to affect the, frankly, only thing I really care about in the end: performance on the server. Would be unfortunate if the (current) #1 team were to drop off because of that. But apparently they aren't - rock on.

Me too, LG.. SK.. doesn't matter for me (or little matter cause I have a LG shirt haha) They played very well, lost two pistols but won 16 of the 22 guns rounds. Strong. NiP need to improve, they lost against Immortals and now to LG, Liquid or G2 really can kick them off of this champ

At least you are getting a Brazilian team in a legendary CS org. Well, SK's "legend" status has suffered quite a bit in recent times, but still. SK|Toledo <FalleN> has a nice ring to it. And yeah, a lot of people are hyping NiP, but I still see all the weaknesses. I can't see them becoming a stable TOP5 team like this. Used to think pyth was one of the more promising upcoming Swedish players, but by now he just seemed like a pickup NiP could afford, rather than a confident pickup.

Dreamhack malmö was looking promisng and so did dh summer but nip aint stable team like top team fnatic or lg. Nip do have shakyness still in there, unfortunately. But i think nip could win 1 big tournament still this yr. mb not cologne but next major? dunno. But nip just need to Practice Practice and PRACTICE. and not only aim and tactics they need to read enemy teams. todays match, they didnt know anything about lg. so im looking forward in the future of nip and every other "legend" team like fnatic vp navi etc.

Im 100% with you. Fnatic looking stunning atm and so does lg and both could be considered as best in the world. LG - FNATIC Is the El'Classico of csgo! On that match i hope Fnatic to win only cuz i dont like "new" teams to become the best.

Judging by the stats you'd think they stomped NiP 16-6 or something like that.

My analytic pov is that nip's ct side was mb too simple. No crossfires or positions where lg:s guys should face 2guys, allways was a 1v1 or 1v+1 and nip couldn't get those 1v1's. And offpoint im starting to do these analytic's on nip's games. This game's key was that Nip wasnt on the point, i've watch'd nip for like 2yrs and this was kinda similar to last year nip. And we know that wasn't that good. But allways there for nip and chanting for nip so gl to lower bracket and hope they'll beat g2 (if i remember right its g2) GLHF :)
