fnatic have secured a spot in Group B's winners match after edging past Cloud9 16-13 on Dust2.
Dennis "dennis" Edman opened the game with a trio of kills inside the A site during the pistol round to put fnatic in the lead, with the Swedes following that up with an anti-eco round. Cloud9 went for a full buy in the third round, a strategy that bore fruits, but they were forced to go back to the drawing board right after as fnatic restored a two-round lead.
The Swedish team continued on a roll and brought the scoreline to 5-1. That was when Cloud9's offense finally flourished as they strung three rounds together to bring the deficit to a minimum. It seemed that the North Americans had finally found their feet, but then fnatic regained controlled of the game, with their dominance being further illustrated in the final rounds of the half as they wreaked havoc with a deadly double AWP setup.

Down 4-11, Cloud9 found a lifeline as they won the pistol round thanks to a trio of kills from Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert in long. But they were unable to capitalise on that as they allowed fnatic to reply on a force buy.
With no margin for error, the North Americans showed incredible fighting spirit and brought the scoreline from 5-14 to 13-15, forcing fnatic to call a timeout. After returning to action, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer pulled off a quad kill during a tec9 B push to put the match to bed and secure fnatic's place in the group's winners match.
