G2 eliminate NiP in London

G2 sent NiP packing as the French team beat the Swedes 2-0 in Group A's elimination match in London (16-4 on Cache and 16-10 on Dust2).

The first elimination match at the ECS Season 1 Finals was between Ninjas in Pyjamas who lost to Luminosity in their opening match and G2 who got upset by Liquid to kick off their tournament.

Cache was the opening map of the best-of-three series and the Ninjas started on the CT-side. Richard "shox" Papillon showed up in the pistol round as he usually does as he clutched a 1vs2. G2 got a bomb plant in the first weapon round, securing it to extend their lead to 4-0.

RpK with a phenomenal performance on Cache

Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to secure the sixth round of the map but failed to string together more rounds. Cédric "RpK" Guipouy's ace was the breaking point of the half and the match as G2 got their 11th round and led 12-3 at halftime.

Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro and Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom found the first kills of the second half and G2 won their CT-side pistol round. Although they gave up one more round, the French team won the map 16-4.

The second map was Dust2 and the CT-sided Ninjas in Pyjamas grabbed the pistol round. the Ninjas failed to pick up the anti-eco and then gave the lead to G2 (3-1).

pyth's effort on Dust2 wasn't enough

As the score was 5-2 and G2 seemed to be running away with the series, Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi clutched a 1vs4 to get the ace and kept his team alive. That didn't help the matter much though as G2 won six of the last seven rounds of the first half and were in front with a 11-4 as the half ended.

G2 defused the bomb to kick off the second half but the Ninjas retaliated and went on a six round streak to reach to double digits (12-10). RpK and Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux came on top of an after plant situation and defused the bomb to give their team their 13th round and G2 went on to win the match 16-10 and the series 2-0.

Maybe achievements will be not enough but shox and scream must be in top10 players of 2016. If they actually manage to win 1 or 2 events one of this 2 deserve a top5 spot.

On lan Shox has delievered more than Flamie. Ofcourse you can say that Flamie has played in more Finals but its because they are a better team than G2. But tbh your list isn't that bad.

Yes that is such a Shame and its annoying. Because for their time now they do deserve the Quarters. But if they can carry their form CONSTANTLY then they can make it out.

This could be the best or the worst thing. Best scenario is that they win both bo1 and qualify for Quarters and don't meet the top 2 teams until final. Worst is that they are on this group xD

GeT_RiGhT is in his real first slump, which was very long time ago last time he had a slump. This two last tournaments everything seems to be off for him, his timing is horrible. He used to be one of the best when it came to make timings work. I don't know if it is his new role as entry-fragger that have made him lose his "timings" he used to have. Sure he have the hardest role in NiP, but it's not okey for him to play like this for two tournaments in a row now. Maybe they need to switch up the roles again, because every team is reading how GT often play his agressive t-side nowadays on cache etc for example.

Well LG knew that NiP only played one guy inner bombsite on train. And taco with good timing went out higher when GT wasn't peeking there. One of those rounds it was because he threw a moltov higher and started peeking lower while taco ran out higher. And it was like 3 rounds or something, NiP couldn't hold anything on train. They got rekt outside while being four players there xDD
