VSL Korea with $6,000 prize pool

VSL Studio has announced that it will host its own gaming league for South Korean teams, with over $6,000 up for grabs.

Scheduled to run from July 3 to August 25, the tournament, called the VSL CS:GO Korea Beginning League, is the biggest of its kind in the country in recent years and will provide Korean teams with the chance to improve their level by competing on a regular basis.

Matches will be played inside VSL Studio's headquarters, in Seoul, on Thursdays and Sundays, with viewers being able to follow all the action live on Twitch.

The league will kick off on July 3

The tournament will begin with a round robin group stage, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the single-elimination playoffs.

The announcement of the Korean league comes on the same day as MVP announced the creation of a second team featuring former members of WeMade FOX and Project_kr. The team, called MVP PK, will not be taking part in the inaugural edition of the VSL League, but they are expected to do so in future iterations.

I've got first hand info from my friend who was in Seoul 1 year as an exchange student. Older people hate westerns, don't be surprised if restaurants won't let you in. It's very hard to get to know locals. They're either too shy or just hate westerns. It's hard to get to know local girls, because they prefer locals. If you manage to get one, they're the most jealous people in the world and shit hits the fan because of their ruling very fast. There's mosquitos even in the very center. The end.

yeah I have two friends right now who are teaching English to young children in Seoul I've heard the exact same stories, but I've also heard a few opposite stories. I think it really depends on how you behave and who you actually meet

I've been living in Korea for about 5 months now and I can't really attest to anything your friend has said. Granted I'm in Seoul where they're more accustomed to foreigners but I have never really had a bad experience with korean people. Most of the older people I have encountered are very friendly, especially in bars and restaurants. As for younger people most are enthusiastic to chat as they want to improve their English. There are rude people here of course but there are rude people everywhere and I have had an excellent experience with koreans so far. I love it here and I'm super excited about this new league.
