iBP Summer Invitational this weekend

Eight North American teams will compete for $16,000 from July 16-17 this weekend in the online iBUYPOWER 2016 Summer Invitational.

iBUYPOWER have hosted a number of season-based Invitational tournaments since the beginning of last year, with the latest occurrence being Cloud9 winning the $16,000 2016 Spring Invitational back when Ryan "⁠freakazoid⁠" Abadir was on the team.

The upcoming iBUYPOWER 2016 Summer Invitational will also offer up $16,000 for two days of online CS:GO action, from July 16-17. This time around there will be eight teams competing via a best-of-three, single elimination bracket, with quarter-finals on the first day and semifinals and the grand final on the second day.

Stewie2K's Cloud9 are reigning champions from the previous iBP Invitational

The tournament will be run through CEVO's platform and broadcast by CEVO-TV. The full list of teams competing this weekend is:

Complexity	Winterfox	Kaliber	Prospects

The prize distribution for the iBP Summer Invitational 2016 is:

1. - $10,000
2. - $4,000
3-4. - $1,000
3-4. - $1,000

The first match will go live on July 16th at 18:00 between Echo Fox and Winterfox. You will be able to catch the action live over at twitch.tv/ibuypower.

rofl, they were only in the finals because they lost to Virtus.Plow and got second seed, so they had to verse fnatic in semis rather than SK which would've knocked them out in semis again. Plus they only got that far because they were carried by UKRAINE (eu), s1mple top fragged and carried against NATUS VINCERE and FNATIC, but what happened when he didn't carry? they lost 2-0 to SK in finals, gg. ps: now that s1mple is gone and Pimp is replacing him we will see what will happen 4Head

I think they are dealing with bringing Pimp into NA for August as they said and probably don't want to bother to bring in a ringer for a shitty $16k total prizepool tournament (hardly even worth it for them after likely being a bit burnt out after the major).. Likely why they aren't on the list. The one weird one is Optic not being in there though.. They do have a set 5.

Rofl, you think SK gives any fucks about a $10k for first place tournament after winning the major? Splyce would have to bring in like 3 random NA ringers to compete, they need time to work the visa's for their europe players.. Hence why they aren't there. CLG.. No surprise.. My throat would explode if I decided to cough every time I make an NA insult, such a huge and productive ground to work with, but I am smarter than this, I will go for a different approach and say - if Finland had their own minor, Ence would make it easily, but oh well, for some reason EU only gets 2 slots, as much as NA, CiS, and Asia regions, but only EU teams gets to fight tier 1 monsters in order to just have a chance to qualify, when decent Asia and CiS teams can have their slots for free.
