NiP confirmed at IEM Oakland

Ninjas in Pyjamas are the fifth team confirmed for IEM Oakland, ESL has announced on Twitter.

NiP join the previously-invited quartet of SK Gaming, Team Liquid, Virtus.pro and Astralis on the list for the event, which will take place from November 19-20 at the Oracle Arena.

The Swedish team were last seen competing in the playoffs of ELEAGUE Season 1, where they were sent packing in the quarter-final stage following a 0-2 defeat against eventual champions Virtus.pro.

NiP will attend IEM Oakland

Weeks before, NiP had been dealt quite a heavy blow at ESL One Cologne as they were eliminated in the group stage. This was the first that the Swedish team failed to make the playoffs of a Counter-Strike Major, and since then speculation has been rife that roster changes could be in the pipeline.

The final seven invites will be revealed by ESL in the following weeks, along with the exact prize fund for the tournament.
