TyLoo, MVP project to SL i-League S2

TyLoo secured a place at the SL i-League StarSeries Season 2 Finals with a semi-final win over MVP project, while the Koreans defeated Athletico BH in the third-place decider for the third China spot.

After VG.CyberZen clinched the first China spot, day four of the SL i-League S2 China Finals saw Athletico taking on TYLOO in the second semi-final.

The uprising Australian roster secured the first map, Mirage (TYLOO's pick), with a 10-round Terrorist side, but the Chinese dominated Dust2 and Train with 16-5 and 16-2 scorelines, respectively.

TyLoo and MVP project qualify for the $300,000 finals

MVP Project had already been waiting in the third-place decider, which kicked off on Nuke. Athletico's impregnable 11-1 CT side gave them the initial map, but the Korean side were able to close out Train after 11-4 as Terrorists, followed by a comeback attempt from Stuart "⁠sonic⁠" Rayner and company.

Cobblestone decided the outcome of the series, and it was MVP Project who put in 12 rounds on the T side and conquered the last spot at 16-12.

With TYLOO and MVP Project joining the list of participants the attending teams of the $300,000 event are following:

The Europe qualifier's group stage is currently underway. Only Group D remains to be completed, where HellRaisers already secured a place in the playoffs by defeating fruits and Spirit, who are scheduled to play for second place today at 18:00 , as the two eliminated Gambit.

Top two sides from each group will then play against each other before they join four seeded teams, Envy, FlipSid3, MOUZ and FaZe in the second round.

Details of the North American qualifier are yet to be revealed by the organizers.

They need to serious work on the strategic aspect of CS. All the top Chinese teams need to, maybe in Asia in general as well. When I watched the PGL (Chinese one, not Romanian) tournament, Team X and Epsilon, low Tier 2 teams in EU, didn't have that much trouble. Chinese teams have good aim but lack strats and certain other tactical aspects. You cannot lose to Team X and Epsilon (both ~20th in the world) without even making it close and expect to be in the Top 8. However this is a very good chance for TyLoo to practice against international competition. Maybe they'll get to scrim some other teams before/during the tournament and gain valuable knowledge/experience.
