Pro League wildcard matches set

ESL has revealed the matches that will determine the final Pro League spots in Europe and North America.

Last week, ESL revealed that the final spots in its Pro League divisions would be determined by best-of-three series, with the teams being picked through community vote.

In Europe, ELEAGUE champions Virtus.pro will be looking to fight their way back into the Pro League after losing the promotion battle against PENTA in May. The Polish giants will have to fend off the threat of GODSENT, who have recently been invited to attend Northern Arena.

Virtus.pro will face GODSENT for Pro League spot

In the North American division, it will be Echo Fox going up against the new Luminosity Gaming squad, previously known as WinOut, for the last spot in the Pro League, which will start on August 17.

If C9 continues to underperform on LAN and TSM keeps getting results in they're probably gonna end up being considered better than C9 too. My votes were for the two best teams from each region (VP and TSM). I have no idea why anyone else wouldn't do that, because it's only fair the best teams win. I voted the next best in the region in EU aka Godsent since VP already lost their chance by relugating and by then losing to Penta so IMO they deserved it that they are in premier. They lost their chance. I so badly hope Godsent decimates them.. In NA I obviously voted TSM since they deserved it.

I think new teams deverves the chances. TSM surely deserve the spot. But I dont think that Echo deserves it more than lumi. Echo fox has been in the scenario for so long and never grew up as a team. I get how new teams deserve a chance but the thing is, LG is too far behind in skill level to teams in Pro League, they went 10-6 in ESEA main..how can they contest Pro League with that score? If they are in Pro you would expect them to drop max 1-2 maps in Main..I feel that the only way LG deserves to be in the League is, as you said , if they manage to succeed in an elimination bracket against those 3 other teams, to be specific a BO3 Bracket, it would be certainly deserved if that was the way they qualified.

Man, LG went 10-6 in ESEA Main because they played with 2 NA players(winout former members), they needed that to guarantee their spot. LG also played a tournament with Kaliber and Echo Fox, and they won it. It's clear TSM is the best team NOW, but LG has the same level of echo.fox, but with much firepower to grow.

Nobody's ever heard of AlienTech and the only reason why they were on the table for being voted is because of the organization swap to LG. They should not have the opportunity to skip Premier and jump right into the Pro League because of their org name, other teams like TSM deserve a chance much more than the new LG team. Voting for a team just turns into a popularity contest and the best teams are not always the most popular. It should have just been a qualifier, that's the most fair way to do something like this.

I was expecting VP vs Ence lol. Only one team gets to qualify so at least (hopefully) one worthy team gets in. If GODSENT do (although VP and possibly Gambit, although they wouldn't beat VP in a BO3, would deserve it more), I deem them worthy. If Luminosity do... meh no. They haven't achieved anything.

they're my second favourite team (sorry but you just have to love Liquid after the last two majors...) so I agree, and hope they do! Would be a shame to see VP miss out on the league now, as they are probably the #1 European team atm on LAN based on recent results. VP did get demoted fairly though, would feel a bit unfair if they came back up...

It's because sean, shah, freak, and roca are all more popular than anyone on TSM, even semphis. Not to mention FALLEN advertising for LG, TSM stood no chance whatsoever even if they did a good job trying to get votes. I feel that this is both awesome and yet its BS. VP didnt play Premier at all, they decided to skip it, while the rest had to work to get there. They obviously belong in Pro, but how many matches less than their peers have they played this past season? I think this voting wildcard bs should be removed tbh. Make the teams work their way back up, or a relegation system practically would be pointless.

Agreed but it's all politics. VP brings more viewers, sponsors and ultimately more money to the table so they'd rather have VP in Pro League but they don't want it to look like some kind of conspiracy. TSM was easily the best team on the NA ballot, and ESL should just kick that old ZPG line-up too.
