Cloud9 add autimatic; Slemmy leaves

Cloud9 have officially added TSM's Timothy "autimatic" Ta into the starting roster, while Alec "Slemmy" White exited the team.

Prior to the off season ESPN have reported on possible changes in Cloud9, whose latest addition Alec "⁠Slemmy⁠" White was rumored to be on his way out of the active lineup, possibly moving to a coaching position.

The rumors have now been confirmed by Cloud9, who replaced the in-game leader with Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta, formerly of TSM. However, Slemmy will not be stepping into the coaching role as expected, as he intends to continue playing.

autimatic officially joins Cloud9

Since his addition to Cloud9 Slemmy has been praised for his leadership but also posed as a target for criticism due to underwhelming individual performances.

autimatic played a part in TSM's international and regional success in the last two months, placing 3rd-4th at ECS Season 1 Finals with wins over Astralis and Cloud9 and close encounters with fnatic and Luminosity, and falling short to his new squad in iBUYPOWER Invitational Summer's grand final.

As Cloud9's previous in-game leader has left the team it's expected of Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert to take over the reins again.

Cloud9 now have the following roster:

That leaves TSM down to just four players. Until they find a replacement, former NRG player Justin "⁠just9n⁠" Ortiz will be standing in for the team:

Shroud said it on stream, n0thing said it in multiple interviews (he has like 40 interviews don't feel like looking through them all n0thing really annoys me) you just youtube it. They were on ex-skdc or splyce/follow eSports I can't remember which team it was. Whether or not that is what happened, we don't know yet. BUT we DO know that it happened with Slemmy, right out of n0thing's mouth in the video I linked, and I know Shroud has said it on stream, or rather said something along the same lines, thus corroborating what Jordan claimed Stewie told him. It seems like C9 is trying to build the "future" team right now, probably in preparation for the eventual departure of n0thing. Because if he leaves, you are left with Ska and Shroud, two players who only do well under guided leadership. Stewie's plays are often balls to the wall "I'm a strong, black, independent, I don't need no IGL" type of player. So if that is the future of your team, and you are banking on him becoming the next CSGO superstar for C9, then when he says "Yeah I played with Tim...we should grab him.." you're probably going to grab him. But what do I know, it's not like that's ever happened before...

Stew and Tim are really good friends IRL outside of CS Go and they have history in the past, C9 currently are doing whatever it takes to keep Stewie happy as he's their best player. I know I probably don't follow the NA scene as hard as you guys do but I know what I'm talking about for the most part. This lineup + Slemmy as Coach / IGL would have been beautiful. I think Cloud9 would have been able to rival Team Liquid if they kept that setup. I want to know if Slemmy left or if they removed him. Who made such a stupid fucking decision? He was so integral to the team's improvement. Slemmy was a shit fragger but he was a super smart guy, and that is what C9 needed the MOST. Having 5 fraggers + a central neural system for those 5 mad fraggers = A really dangerous Cloud9.

can't see this making much of a difference for c9. i said stewie was a bad pick and he proved me and a lot of people wrong. i said slemmy was a bad pickup and i was right about that. hopefully for NA ill be wrong about autimatic but without a decent IGL and recent coach changes i dont have high hopes for this lineup. its just such a shame the whole ibp thing really cost NA badly. i feel like NA would have at least 2 globally competitive teams if names like dazed swag steel and azk were still able to compete.
