ListenIn on mTw with wSync

A few weeks ago wSync.org was announced, promising synchronized sound with HLTV, and today we are ready for the first test.

Instead of finding a team of commentators, the first test will however feature the Danish WCG champions from mTw. The ListenIn concept is simple, we will be broadcasting, in sync with the HLTV, the live ventrilo of mTw, giving a unique insight into a professional CS teams communication. As most of you can probably figure out, then mTw speaks Danish on their ventrilo, meaning only Danish, Norwegian and Swedish people will have a chance to get much benefit. But fear not, mTw is just one of the many teams we will try to feature on ListenIn, and hopefully your favorite team will allow us to broadcast their ventrilo some day.

The match that will be broadcasted is mTw vs Playzone.no:

[upcomingbooked,7,820363]

For more information on how to listen in, pay attention to the match page, or the HLTV.org news section as more details will be posted before the match starts.

To preempt some issues that will most certainly show up, then this is the very first test of wSync. This means that there will be bugs, there will be crashes, and there is no guarantee that you will be able to enjoy any of the broadcast if everything goes wrong, but testing wSync on a larger audience is required to get these bugs weeded out, so please have patience even if you cannot get it working, we will do our best to feature mTw and other top teams again in the future.

There is not going to be any commentators this time. It is only a test to show that wSync is synchronized with HLTV. I'm sure later on, we will be able to provide commentators on selected matches, in English though.

HEY! i know how to make this great idea even better. you should have some sort of subtitles either on the hltv or something else like it. subtitles would help other people that might be curious about what they say =]

hahaha... Do you realize how incredibly insane that would be ? It would take several persons, typing subtitles like crazy for each player, in sync, and they would have very little time to do it. Just the time between real action and the moment it appears on the hltv.

yea i guess it's a no go. but you know how theres an hltv delay. there can be a delay in what the translators hear and when we hear it or see it.

i guess we will still be able 2 figure out atleast half of what they say....like calling players from the other bomb site when the opposition rushes one bombsite, or perhaps words like 'house' , 'banana' , 'a, 'b' , 'pits' , 'mag' .....unless they have special words for these too. :D

If I remember correctly, mTw use some legendary players names like potti or walle to name very precise spots. But yeah, most of the banana-like spots have the same name all around the world. It should still be amazing, even for the non-Danish speaking people, will make the hltv experience much more intense I guess.

I don't think they are taking any risk, other teams won't be able to learn a lot more about mTw than they already do with the demos. It won't make them easier to read in the future, plus it's only a small match against a semi-elite team.

This test had been done in a similar way by a spanish radio named RadioBehind. They broadcasted the live ventrilo of team spain during a match of the ESL nations cup, but they couldn't (or didn't want to) make it synchronised with the hltv all the time. Instead they put the sound a round after the hltv displayed the action. Anyway broadcasting the ventrilo of a top team was very fun for the fans and I hope you hltv guys, somehow manage to broadcast many ventrilos of many top teams. GL and great idea.
