Introducing: livescore and filtering
We're introducing an update for our front page's Hot matches section – a live score feature and a filtering system.
Whether you are a die-hard competitive CS:GO fan or an occasional visitor today's two updates should make your HLTV.org experience better, either by allowing you to keep track of various of match scores right on the front page or by letting you filter out matches that don't feature any top teams.
Live score feature (BETA)
The scorebot that you are able to see on our match pages will now also help keep our front page just as up to date by automatically setting the score after every round (and map) on each match that is ongoing.
That will allow for a better overview of matches that are live, their scores, and it could perhaps let you know which ones are becoming more interesting to you.
Also, once a match has ended it will remain faded out on the front page for 10 minutes.
Here's a GIF to demostrate how it works in practice:

Of course as with every new update it's possible that some bugs exist, especially since this feature is still in development. There are instances when live score will be unable to update the result every round (as is sometimes the case with scorebot) due to the way some servers are configured or due to the crashes and subsequent round restores in a match, but we will keep working on improving it.
However, we can say that we have adapted our scorebot to the ESEA server system, which means ESL Pro League and other ESEA-based matches should be showing the correct score and scoreboard from now on.
Filtering feature
The second part of the update is our filtering feature which will address the issue that occurs when we feature many matches in a day.
While we think the level of CS has risen and that all the matches we feature deserve attention, we still wanted to provide you the option to filter out the ones not involving any top teams. For that purpose we added a button above the hot match list which will act as a filter and show you only the ones that have at least one star (now requiring at least one top 30 team).

The filter can be used without logging in and it will be remembered on each device you use it on, so you don't have to click on it every time you visit the site.
In addition to the automatic detection of the stars for a match, we added blue stars that will represent an "HLTV recommended" match. That will allow us to either add a star to a previously non-starred match (such as when some top national teams are playing in TWC in the example above), increase the amount of stars (for example in a major final regardless of which teams play in it) or recommend a match among a number of others in a given day by changing its stars into the blue color.
That about covers all the changes on this occasion, and as always let us know what you think about the new features and if you spot some bugs.
