EB Expo Sydney Finals set to begin

Winning their respective brackets in the open qualifier, the tournament will consist of Athletico, AVANT, onestop and Legacy OCE. Excluding onestop, it was not an easy path for the other three teams, as they faced more difficult opponents along the road.

In close fashion, Legacy OCE, who had been performing poorly, accomplished an upset win against the current CyberGamer OEM Champions, Parallax. Meanwhile AVANT narrowly defeated the Australian ESEA Champions of Season 22, Chiefs, in overtime (19-17) on Nuke. 

As for the defending champions of ESL Australia & NZ Season 1, Athletico had to face James "⁠James⁠" Quinn's Immunity in a three-map thriller. Stuart "⁠sonic⁠" Rayner led his team to victory in their bracket final, defeating Immunity 2-1 (16-11 de_overpass, 13-16 de_nuke, 16-9 de_mirage). In addition, they will be using Erdenetsogt "⁠erkaSt⁠" Gantulga for this event, instead of Connor "⁠chuch⁠" Morgan due to school commitments.

All four squads will meet each other on the first day in a best-of-one round-robin format. This will decide the seedings for the best-of-three playoffs the next day. The talent lineup will feature Iain "⁠SnypeR⁠" Turner, who attended 2 majors in the past at EMS Katowice 2014 with Vox Eminor, and ESL Cologne 2015 with Immunity.
