FlipSid3, Tengri to ACL upper final

On the first day of Adrenaline Cyber League Finals, FlipSid3 eased past Spirit 2-0 (Overpass 16-7, Cobblestone 16-7) while Tengri upset Gambit 2-1 (Train 16-14, Dust2 3-16, Overpass 16-13).

Spirit and Gambit secured their place at the finals via the online phase, while FlipSid3 were invited alongside Tengri.

Originally, MOUZ were supposed to travel to Moscow for the $100,000 event. Visa problems have however prevented Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač's side from doing so.


FlipSid3 kicked off their LAN debut in dominating fashion

Day one of the double elimination bracket started with Spirit taking on one of the invited teams, FlipSid3, who are playing their first LAN event with Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov. Andrey "⁠B1ad3⁠" Gorodenskiy's roster got off to a fantastic start on Overpass, securing a 13-2 CT side, and finished it off after eight more rounds at 16-7.

Cobblestone followed and the story was exactly the same. The favourites managed to put up another 13 rounds as CT and advanced to the upper bracket final at 16-7 once more.

On the other side of the bracket, Tengri were pitted against Gambit. Dmitry "⁠hooch⁠" Bogdanov's side began with a solid nine rounds on T side on Train, but still fell short as the Kazakhstani squad put up 10 rounds in the second half for 16-14, with Abay "⁠HObbit⁠" Khassenov and Ramazan "⁠Ramz1kBO$$⁠" Bashizov combining for 61 kills.

Dust2 was a very one-sided affair. Adlet "⁠keeN⁠" Nyrseytov's team fell apart as Terrorists, only managing two rounds, as Gambit pushed the series to the decider after a 16-3 blowout.

Tengri began with seven rounds on the offence on Overpass and managed to complete the upset at 16-13, joining FlipSid3 in the upper bracket final.

Day two will begin with the upper final between FlipSid3 and Tengri at 10:00 , while Gambit will be pitted against Spirit in the LB final at approximately 13:00 .

You don't gain +30, +15, +12 totals from just 1 map. Gambit are a team who save their weapons in a lot of even situations, such as 2v2s or 3v3s. This happened yet again in this match.
