Kylie - "We have a small advantage"
Along comes the second interview before DreamHack Winter this week. This time it’s Begrips turn in the spot light.
Dreamhack opens its doors on Thursday. One of the twelve wildcarded teams is Begrip. A team who has over the years come and gone with new lineups but also in a way managed to bring forth some of the finest players of today. The current team has seen a lot of lineup changes within a short period of time. But now Aras “kylie” Parashpar explains what things look like before and after DreamHack Winter:
DreamHack Winter starts this Thursday Kylie. How has the team prepared for this event?
We have done the best we can under the circumstances we are in. Mainly training online but the fact that people work and study has kept us from being able to bootcamp.
Does it feel like the team has managed to prepare enough to go far in this tournament?
Well yes hopefully. We have a small advantage keeping in mind the fact that we can change our gameplay based on our opponents. We’ve done this by studying HLTV demos and it feels like that is good enough.
Begrip received their wildcard from the Swedish Spelarenan ladder. While participating there did it feel like you were in a class of your own or was it a prestige filled ladder?
We felt like we were a level above the competition there. Despite that it we felt it was worth it anyway for the wildcard.
WGT is the biggest tournament left this year. What does the tournament mean for the team?
WGT means just as much as every other tournament. We will give everything and do our best. If we fail we will hang in there and take the experience with us and just train for the next event. On top of that some of the world’s best teams are showing up and the prizes are crazy so we are really looking forward to it!
You mentioned some of the world’s best teams. Who do you see as being the hardest competition?
That’s an obvious mTw who are an incredibly strong team right now with very skilled players.
What is the goal in this prestige filled tournament?
As always we will aim at number one. That is what one wants to achieve.
What would be your top3 prediction?
1.Begrip 2.mTw 3. Lanklan.
Back to the team we have seen that Ian “molander” Molander is playing for Begrip again. Is that a temporary solution or will he be part of the starting five from now on?
For the time being it is a temporary solution and hopefully it can stay this way until the Inferno Online Lan playoffs next year. After that we will have to relook at things and we will see.
You mentioned the Inferno Online Lan playoffs next year. What do things look like for the team after the new year?
First and foremost the Inferno Online Lan playoffs will be held in early January. After that the ESWC national qualifiers will probably start popping up. Other than that nothing is planned.
Begrips roster for DreamHack winter will include:
Aras "kylie" Parashpar
Fredrik "hibb" Isaksson
Max "azl" Höög
Pelle "fnazze" Höglund
Ian "molander" Molander
Begrip will be playing in group A along with mTw and MYM. A tough group but time will tell if demo studying will pay off. HLTV.org will of course be on location and providing full coverage.
