We talked to Na`Vi player and ESL One New York MVP Aleksandr 's1mple' Kostyliev after his team defeated Virtus.pro to win the $250,000 event.

Natus Vincere triumphed in a three map thriller at ESL One New York over Virtus.pro and the team suddenly found themselves winners for the first time ever of a $250,000 event. The victory also marked a first substantial title for the team's star Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev and his performance throughout the event earned him our official MVP award.

We caught up with s1mple as the venue was closing down to hear the affable 19-year-old Ukrainian speak on the grand final, on his occasional calling during the grand final, and on his maturation as a player over time.

Makes zero sense what you are talking, so who is the mvp of this tournament ? He topfraged almost in every game with impact frags, also neo had insane stats in buharest had highest rating 1.22. You cant call mvp a guy like elige who played amazingly but dropped out at semis

He has done shit tons of clutches and deagle kills, and he was always doing necessary frags. He doesn't do that much of anti eco frags, but he always does solid frags on buy rounds, destroying enemy's economy. The only closest ones to him were elige and byali, but their stats are a bit worse and they didn't win the tournament as well.
