TWC teams and format announced

With The World Championships 2016 set to start this week, EFRAG announced the final rosters for the eight national teams that will compete in the tournament, as well as the format of the competition.

The tournament will take place from October 6-9, with the first two days reserved for an eight-team round-robin group stage that will take place at the EFRAG studios.

Every team will play a best-of-one match against the other seven teams to decide the seeding for the playoffs.

The Heroic trio of Gla1ve, valde and Snappi will provide a strong backbone to the Danes

All eight teams will advance to the single-elimination bracket that starts with the quarter-final and will take place at the Kombank Arena in Belgrade.

The playoffs will be played as best-of-three, except the grand final which will be best-of-five.

The schedule for the event is as follows:

October 5th - Media Day
October 6th - Group Stage Day 1 (EFRAG Studios)
October 7th - Group Stage Day 2 (EFRAG Studios)
October 8th - Quarter-finals (Kombank Arena)

Exatctly, just as C9NaCsAhRt wrote. It turned out, that Dosia played for them during the qualifiers (I'm not sure how many games). With this, they broke the rules, because he is Russian, so the team of Kazaghstan got disqualified from TWC. Turkey will fill their spot.

TWC for me is shitest tournament jesus christ just wasted 100k this is just joke from competive scene i sure you can make with 100k small lan with 4x tier1 teams BO5 format something like gfinity instead sick matches like Tunisa vs Argentia with 10x players on serwer what nobody hear before even this ESWC what is pure tier4 lan loks 10x better compare to TWC

the point of the tournament is not to bring top tier1 godlike cs players ... it is to show a large scale of different play style and skillz from "unknown" countries . You already have 365 other tournaments which brings the best of the best ...

This can only work if we have same system as football. If we had season system, and 1-2 months of end season - pre next season, this event could fit in, like thats case for football. Otherwise, i doubt that best players will ever attend this, even if they increase prizepool for next events
