dignitas and G2 keep it tied, go 1-1

Group A stays tied, and as is the rule so far in Moscow, Dignitas and G2 win their opponents map pick to make it 1-1. Dignitas won Dust2 16-14 to start it off, but G2 came back to win 16-12 on Overpass.

G2 had an explosive start to the Terrorist side of Dust2, getting to an early 7-2 lead despite Richard "shox" Papillon being unable to complete the potential 1v4 in round 4.

AWPs were a crucial part of Dignitas' comeback in the half, as René "cajunb" Borg used a saved one to stop an anti-eco B-rush from the Frenchmen, while Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel joined in on the second one to get some crucial picks that allowed his team to pick up six rounds as Counter-Terrorists.

Dignitas picked up the Terrorist pistol to equalize the score, but G2 bounced right back with shox and Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux combining for all five kills while defending from a quick A-split.

G2 struggled to close out Dust2 on the CT side

SmithZz followed up with another good round, getting a quad-kill to make it 11-9 for G2Dignitas were 13-9 down before they managed to string get five rounds in a row to get the 14-13 lead.

shox and Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro combined to close down the B-push and equalize it at 14-14 once again, but the Danes managed to find better timings in the following two rounds to win Dust2 16-14.

Dignitas won the first three rounds on Overpass as Terrorists, G2 tied it with the following three, but as the rounds were close the Danes continued to buy up and eventually broke the economy of Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and co.

Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen's squad got to a 8-5 lead, on the back of it before bodyy took down two with the Famas to put his team into a good position to win the 14th round and subsequently get to a 7-8 half.

Magiskb0y put up huge numbers on Overpass, but it wasn't enough for his team to win

RpK showed up with three huge kills on the second pistol and G2 got to 11-9 before Emil "Magisk" Reif utilized a saved AK-47 to get two opening kills and steal back an otherwise eco round.

A number of 1v1's happened in the following rounds: Magisk won his versus SmithZz, shox took out Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and then Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom found RUBINO to reset Dignitas and get his team to a 14-12 lead.

G2 kept it compact and took the last two rounds decisively, ending the game 16-12.

Next in action in Moscow are SK and HellRaisers, with the double Major Champions needing a 2-0 victory to get to the playoffs.

Not defending him but they certanly did not lose because of him not getting kills as they were winning rounds

If you watched the game, you would notice that he sacrificed himself to assure 1-3 kills for his teammates in incredibly many rounds. In general he was not needed to kill in those rounds, because his deaths did the job tbh.

I'm perfectly aware of the fact that he's an IGL and he sacrifices himself in order to execute properly, but if you've watched the game you'd also notice that he couldn't land some easy shots which he should have as a professional player. I'm a fervent supporter of MSL to be honest, but he simply underperformed in terms of fragging today.

As i see it both G2 and Dignitas is now secured a spot in the playoffs. No matter how the results pan out between Navi and Nip. If they tie 1-1 it will be impossible to turn two negative RD into two positives, which g2 and Dignitas currently have. Im just sad that Dignitas might lose the direct semi-final because of 1 round..

One team can perfectly gain a positive score, but both teams cant. Also, your example is not very well calculated.

NaVi is on -1, if they win 16-14 they will be on +1, and if they lose the next map 16-12 they will be on -3 again. In that scenario NiP, G2 and Dignitas go to the playoffs.
2016-10-19 12:32

in that case, navi will out of the groups and nip advance to the quarter finals.

In case of a tiebreaker in the round robin group stage, the following factors will be taken into consideration in deciding which teams go through (in this exact order): a) Direct result b) Direct result round difference c) Group global round difference

Yes, true, did not find. So, in case two teams have equal points, then we first look at their own match and not to group round difference. But in case 3-4 teams have equal points, then we look at group round difference?

BO2 is clearly better than BO3 for these group stages, you have to play til the end, you can't get rewarded for winning games 2-1 with less rounds than your opponent like sometimes it happens, when a team wins a map 16-14, gets rekt 3-16 on a second, and wins 16-13 on the decider. Those cruel scenarios of undeserved wins (when you win your 2 maps with really close scores, sometimes with the help of favorable events going your way) with a map where you get completely owned/start to throw the map after the 13-2 first side "because whatever there is the 3rd map to come, we won't exhaust ourselves trying hard in that "already" lost map). On those BO2, every single round matters, this is better, you have to be consistent.
