StarLadder to host CIS Minor

StarLadder have announced that they will organize the CIS Minor Championship which will take place from the eleventh of November to the thirteenth.

StarLadder Regional Minor Championship: CIS will offer $50,000 and, more importantly, two spots at the ELEAGUE Major 2017 Offline Qualifier which will be held in Atlanta from December 15-18.

The CIS Minor Championship will take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia from November 11-13 at the Saint Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex and will feature eight teams which will earn their spots in the qualifiers.

The venue of the Minor will be in Russia

The open qualifiers will be played from October 26-28 and will hand out eight spots at the closed qualifiers which will be the second stage of the qualification process.

Eight teams from the open qualifier and eight invited teams will compete from October 29 to November 1 in the closed qualifiers where all eight of the CIS Minor teams will be determined.

You can sign up for the open qualifier until October 23 if your team is from one of the countries in this list by going to the StarLadder tournament page.

CIS minor such a waste of two spots. Both teams went 0-3 last major qualifier (only two teams can go 0-3 LUL). Should be 3 for EU/CIS, 3 for Americas, 2 for Asia. Before you start going "3 for NA CS LUL" remember Cloud9, Immortals, TSM etc. are in Americas minor. If you want to diversify the major qualifier and give teams from many places opportunities, make it a 24 team qualifier and give more spots to everybody. Probably most fair that way anyway.

F3 came in from the EU online qualifier before minors were a thing. Gambit could've easily qualified through an EU/CIS minor, they're the only team from the CIS minor that would likely have succeeded in the EU minor too.

2 unstoppeble teams go to MAJOR after NA-minor. Super result. CIS (ex-USSR territory) is very-very huge. From Kazakhstan to Germany ping is 100-150, from far-west Russia - 200-250. This guyz just cant play to EU-minor online. Check eu-tier-3-teams, who play on eu-minor. thay are shit like cis-minor-lvl-teams. in Cologne-minor godsent, orbit, csgl. shit? shit. hellraisers? half-ukrainian team. sorie, mai london iz bad)

Sorry but I'm having a hard time understanding your English. From what I gather it seems like you're definitely underestimating the EU minor though. The best teams in the CIS minor are highly irrelevant, like Spirit, Tengri, and Preparation. The best EU teams are highly relevant, like Fnatic, Hellraisers, and Heroic. In these theoretical CIS/EU or CIS/Asia/AU minors, I would be fine with CIS having their own qualifier to get into the minor (which is on LAN) so that the qualifier ping is not bad. I just don't agree with having their own minor in general. The ping argument doesn't really make sense and would be easily solved, I'm fine with giving CIS spots at the EU minor, but not giving a region that's really weak apart from teams already in the major two pretty much wasted major qualifier spots.

It can't be solved. Valve don't have any servers in Russia, even in Moscow, so minimum ping in Russia you can get is 40, unless you live on border. So where should play a team from Vladivostok, for example, they can't play on EU servers, too far away, but they opponents can't play on Asia servers for the same reason. It's like Russia should have 4 internal minors before main LAN minor, but it's too long to organize.

I don't understand what's lmao about this. Three best Americas teams are Cloud9, IMT, TSM I guess, three best asia are Tyloo, Czen, RNG. probably fair to get an extra americas spot just so that a third team can even have a chance of going through.

after first minor visir major 1 CIS and 1NA teams. After second minor: 0 CIS, 1NA. And after 2 minors u say, does CIS dont need minor? mb asia dont need minor? mb we need NA-quals to EU-minor and 8 slots from EU minor to Major? I mentioned above to you, does teams from Vladivostok, Astana, Baku cant play on Europe.
