You can not claim american basic geographic knowledge is any good when all studies prove that your geographical knowledge is mostly just adequate. I'd call that sub-par. I've never seen that, but I've seen a similar one. Everyone of the schools I've been too (I'm in a military family so I move alot) has taught decent geographic accept for 1, which only taught about North America, and alot of people know alot about the country but not the location.

Well, my geographic 101 would be to be able to place most countries on the map. That's just basic knowledge imho. Atleast it's taught to us here during basic schooling and most other EU/Asia countries as well. Albeit I don't like schooling the way it's done still nowadays (the classroom concept prepairing people for factory work is just so killing for body, mind and creativity..) but I think people should have sufficient basic knowledge of a wide variety of things. At bare minimum not claim to know (maybe not you but your countrymen and women in general) when the situation clearly isn't so and is often demonstrated. :P
