Astralis and SK to winners' match

SK and Natus Vincere played in the highly anticipated Group C opener. As Sergey "⁠starix⁠" Ischuk mentioned in a tweet before the game, Natus Vincere decided to be brazen and play on Train, SK’s playground, where the Brazilian team have a 22-2 record and a 12 win streak on LAN.

Natus Vincere started defending on the first half of the map and were able to take it 9-6. The tables turned, though, despite a particularly strong performance by Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev with 29 frags at the end of the map, and the Brazilian squad, who put up an absolutely impenetrable wall—giving up a single round in their comeback to victory—, prolonged their Train winning streak on LAN to 13.

The second opener of the day pitted Astralis with ELEAGUE newcomers ALTERNATE aTTaX. While Astralis have not been showing their best as of late, ALTERNATE aTTaX were just not a team able to pose a threat to the Danes, even on the wildcard that is Nuke. Astralis took the T side 9-6 and then easily managed to close out the map in the second half without giving up a single round on the CT side.
