Liquid and Astralis win matches at IEM
Liquid crush TyLoo (16-6 Mirage) and Astralis overcome Immortals (19-15 Dust2) to keep things unpredictable as we approach the end of group A at IEM Oakland.
After a shaky start to Mirage, TYLOO managed to go from 0-6 to 3-6 before a slim buy round win from Liquid swung the momentum back in favor of the North American side.
9-3 down, YuLun "Summer" Cai's side went for a straight-up A execute that was shut up cleanly from Liquid, with the following eco being more dangerous in the end as Josh "jdm64" Marzano was forced to clutch a 1v1 against Ke "captainMo" Liu on B.

Finishing the half 12-3 down, TYLOO were desperate for the pistol round and the veteran in captainMo stepped up with three crucial kills on the B site retake to give his team a chance to come back in the match.
Unfortunately, the Chinese side wasn't able to hold on against the explosive combo of Nick "nitr0" Cannella and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski as they swiftly shut down TYLOO for a 16-6 Liquid victory. With this defeat, TYLOO have lost any chance of advancing to the playoffs of IEM Oakland, but have one more game to play—against Astralis.

Both Astralis and Immortals struggled to close out the anti-force buy rounds at the start of the match as four rounds were traded back and forth in the beginning of Dust2 before the Danish team finally strung three rounds together to get the early lead.
Immortals bounced back towards the middle of the first half, ending the half with a solid 9-6 lead. Lucas "steel" Lopes's team won the CT pistol round, but once again failed to hold off against pistols as Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth and Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye picked up kills to bounce straight back.

After going on a 7-round losing streak Immortals finally managed to shut down Astralis' B-split to make it 13-11, but Nicolai "device" Reedtz's picked up three with the AWP and single-handedly got Astralis a seemingly lost round.
Immortals pulled it back to a 14-14 however, and stopped the fast long play to get to match point before a strong B hit once again worked for Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and co. —as they forced overtime.
Kjaerbye ended the match with 30 kills as his team focused on the B site in the added rounds to easily close out the match 19-15 in overtime.
