NiP beat Heroic, SK defeat C9 at IEM

SK had a good start to the CT side of Dust2 as they won the first six rounds straight and built up a strong economy. Cloud9 were successful on the A split to pick up their first and make it 6-1 but were instantly reset in the following round thanks to Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo picking up a quad-kill with the AWP on B.

Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo's team went on to close out the half with a dominant 12-3 scoreline, but lost the pistol round to three Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham USP-S headshots. A chance opened up for Cloud9 to build up some momentum, but the unusual suspect TACO stepped up again and got two fast deagle kills to shut down the A site retake on the second round force.

The Brazilans quickly found themselves 15-4 up but Cloud9 didn't let them close the match so fast. Skadoodle was getting good AWP picks with Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert chipping in as well to make the North American team get to 15-10.

In the end, TACO picked up all three kills in a 2v3 to close out the match and secure SK their second win in the group stage.

In the other match, Ninjas in Pyjamas also had convincing start to their CT side, going 7-1 at the beginning of their match on Nuke. Michael "⁠Friis⁠" Jørgensen opened up the following round with the AWP to start HEROIC's streak, as the Danes got to a 7-4 scoreline.

The Swedes picked it up towards the end of the half, finishing it 10-5 and secured the pistol after Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg got two entries in the round.

After following up the pistol with two anti-eco rounds and the first gun round, it was only a matter of time before "⁠⁠" closed out their match against HEROIC—making it 16-8 in the end.
